💙💛Her Game Grows at Macleod Cricket Club — and this is only the beginning!💙💛

This Women & Girls Week, we’re celebrating the growth of the Women’s and Junior Girls’ programs at Macleod Cricket Club, and the exciting future we’re building together!

Established by our Head Female Coach, Carly Ray, our female cricket program is growing from strength to strength. Now in its second year, our Women’s Team continues to build, while our Junior Girls’ Team is full of excitement as we welcome new players for the upcoming season.

At Macleod, we’re creating more than just cricket teams. We’re building a strong, supportive and fun environment where women and girls can learn, grow, develop confidence, build friendships and feel part of something special.

Because sometimes, being part of a team is about so much more than what happens on the field.

It’s having somewhere to go after a tough day at school or work, or after a long day with the kids. It’s catching up with friends, practising your cricket skills (and maybe a few cartwheels between overs!), having a laugh, or simply having someone to talk to when life gets a little overwhelming.

It’s knowing you have a group of people around you who support you, encourage you and celebrate your wins — both on and off the field.

We’re learning cricket together, developing life skills, building confidence and creating connections that reach far beyond the boundary line. Every player brings something unique to our programme, and every person who joins us helps make our club a stronger, more welcoming place.

Our female program is only just beginning, and the possibilities are endless!

We’re proud of what we’re building, excited about what lies ahead, and passionate about creating opportunities for more women and girls to experience the fun, friendships and sense of belonging that cricket can bring.

The future is ours to grow, and we can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.

What a weekend of cricket! Going 3-4 on Saturday before rain forced no play Sunday for our women’s side.
1s- Led by captain Tim Wise taking 6-12 off 6 overs including 5 wickets in 19 balls to tear the game apart before Eltham bowled out for 76 before and sending them back in and getting another wicket courtesy of Jai Swainger.
2s- Took the game deep coming out on top with a classy win over Banyule with the spin twins of golden arm Adam James and Alex Lyngcoln both taking 3 and Liam O’Leary icing the game taking 2.
3s- Getting a comfortable win in the end with Raju Raj taking 3 and KP keeping it tight picking up a pole aswell.
4s- couldn’t get the job done unfortunately but a great bowling display kept Bundoora Park to 7-136 off 35 overs tidy bowling from Sam James and Ryan Delaney up top and young gun Harper Wise taking 2 fa. with the bat U15 player Jaxon Carlyon made a great 29* as the team just fell short in a great game!
