Although it is a dramatization, this clip clearly shows the application of forms/kata to real world combat.

Very saddened to hear today of the passing of Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje Jr.

Grand Tuhon was the head of Pekiti Tersia Kali, a system I have been fortunate to be a part of for several years. He leaves behind an amazing legacy and he will be deeply missed.

Maraming salamat po - Thank you very much for all you gave to the Filipino combative arts.

Ok folks, as you can see from Cheyenne's post we had the first of our DOJO DINNERS last night.

I have trained at several clubs over the years where you are lucky to know the first name of the person you are partnering with - even after extended periods training together. Some people are happy to just roll in, train and roll out again - and that is fine. At times I have been happy doing that, but I want to give you guys the chance to all get to know each other better should you choose to.

For the last Muay Thai class for the term I floated the idea to the students that were present - We were missing half the class as always happens at the end of term. To be honest I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested. As it turns out everyone present chose to attend.

I will be looking at doing DOJO DINNERS with our Zen Do Kai memberes also, should it be something that you are interested in.

My vision is to have these dinners perhaps once per term. When I am on the floor, as you see, I am always moving around correcting etc. This doesn't give me the time to really have in depth conversations.

Hopefully some of you embrace the concept - and for those that choose not to I fully respect that choice.

Finally, to those that were there last night - Thank you all for making the time to attend. I am normally reclusive, yet I had an amazing time. Here's to making them bigger and better.

Classes may have stopped for the holidays but the fun sure hasn’t 💪🏻. Thankyou to our Thai crew for coming out for a great feed and even better company 🙏🏻

Congratulations to Clint, Liam and Jakob on successfully completing their Orange belt gradings in Zen Do Kai.

To say they got pushed during the padwork and sparring sessions would be an understatement.

Fantastic work guys. You can all hold your heads high after the effort you have put in. 💪👊
