Meet The Horse Monday: Chester! 🐴❤️

Hi, I’m Chester! 👋

I’m a 12-year-old Thoroughbred 🐎, born on April 10th, 2014, and I stand at 16.2 hands. I was a racehorse when I was younger and have had multiple owners throughout my life. Over the years, I became very anxious because people often struggled to understand my needs and how best to help me. 💭

I arrived at SFE on June 11th, 2026 🏡, and since coming here, I’ve been learning to trust the people around me. My handlers are patient, kind, and understanding, and they help me work through my anxiety instead of letting me panic. 🤍

I absolutely love attention and having people spend time with me 🥰, but I’m not always a fan of new things. With patience and understanding, I’m learning that new experiences don’t always have to be scary. 🌱

Most importantly, I’m learning to trust myself. 💕 Every day, I’m becoming a little more confident and discovering that I’m safe, loved, and understood here at SFE. 🫶🐴❤️

🐴 Vet visit at Smiling Faces Equestrian! 🩺

Yesterday, Bella and Dude had their vet visit, including stretches, acupuncture, and injections to help keep them feeling comfortable and healthy. ❤️

Taking care of our horses means more than just riding — it’s making sure they’re comfortable, happy, and getting the care they need. 🐴✨

🐴 Meet the Horse Monday — Shamrock! 🍀

Hi, I’m Shamrock, but my friends call me Sham! 💕 My show name is Shamrock Miss, and I’m a Thoroughbred mare with a beautiful bay coat.

I was born on February 14, 2007, and I’m 15.3 hands tall. I came to Smiling Faces Equestrian in February 2022, after my previous owner decided she was getting older and it was time for me to move on to my next home. I’ve been loving it here ever since! 🥰

I have endless energy and absolutely LOVE to jump — seriously, the more the better! 😂 But I’m also great at helping beginners learn the ropes. I know when to be patient and take care of my riders, especially when it means I get some extra attention and spoiling afterwards! 😉

When it comes to snacks, I LOVE apples and carrots 🍎🥕… but whatever you do, no mints! 😂

My best friends are Olive & Dude, and you’ll often find us hanging out together! 🐴🐴🐴
