One of the things I’m most proud of at the KK Academy isn’t just the standard of martial arts we teach, but the community we’ve built around it.

People from all walks of life come through our doors. Different ages, different backgrounds, different abilities and different reasons for wanting to train.

Some want to get fit, some want to learn how to defend themselves, some want to compete, and others simply want to try something new.

But once you’re on the mats, everyone is part of the same team.

We train together, push each other, have a laugh and support one another. Friendships are built, people improve, and everyone contributes to making the academy what it is today.

For me, that’s what a great martial arts academy should be about. Not just producing good fighters, but bringing good people together.

One of the things I’m most proud of at KK Academy is seeing the number of young kids coming through our doors, enjoying martial arts and developing week after week.

For me, martial arts has always been about much more than learning how to fight. It’s about giving kids an opportunity to get active, make new friends, challenge themselves and learn something that will stay with them for life.

At KK Academy, we offer a fantastic range of classes for children aged 4–9 and 10–14, including:

MUAY THAI – Learn striking, kicking, movement and the art of eight limbs.

BOXING – Develop footwork, coordination, technique and fitness.

BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU (BJJ) – Learn grappling, ground techniques and problem-solving skills.

WRESTLING – Build balance, strength, movement and body control.

Whether your child is naturally sporty, a little shy, full of energy or has never tried martial arts before, we want them to feel welcome.

We have some fantastic coaches across our academies, and I’m incredibly proud of the environment we’re building for our younger members.

Not every child wants to become a fighter, and that’s absolutely fine. Some just want to have fun, get fitter and be part of something. Others might go on to compete and achieve great things. Our job is to give every child the opportunity to find their own path.

With four academies across Calgary, Cochrane, Okotoks and Bragg Creek, and one membership covering all four locations, there’s never been a better time to get your kids involved.

KK ACADEMY – LIFETIME HONORARY MEMBER

I believe it’s important to give something back to the people who have supported you along the way.

Today, I’m delighted to recognise someone who has been part of the KK Academy from the very beginning, Mr. Aaron Archer.

Aaron was our very first member and, to this day, remains our most attended member. That alone says a lot about his dedication and commitment.

But this recognition goes far beyond how many hours he’s spent on the mats.

Over the years, I’ve watched Aaron develop into a fantastic person. He’s an incredible family man, someone who has always supported the academy, and someone who has personally supported me in so many different ways.

Many people won’t realise just how much Aaron has contributed behind the scenes. Those heavy bag brackets you see in our academies? That huge but beautiful sign at the bragg creek gym ? That’s down to Aaron’s incredible welding skills and craftsmanship through his business. Just a couple of examples of the time and effort he’s given to help us grow.

I’ve always believed that loyalty works both ways. When people give you their time, support and friendship without expecting anything in return, I think it’s important to recognise that.

So, Aaron, it’s my absolute pleasure to award you the KK Academy Lifetime Honorary Membership.

What does that mean?

Well, quite simply, you’ve now you can train at any of our academies, as little or as often as you like, for the rest of your life (YOU CANT EVER LEAVE)
