Running to get to the tug-of-war rope first. We like to advance our Tug-of-War a bit where both teams are on opposite sides of the gym and when the coach says 'GO!' they have to run to grab the rope. It's quite fun, you should try it!

Do you have any games you play regularly play with the kids at your dojo? Here the comp class is playing tiger tails (we cut up a bunch of belts into 3 sections), if they collect 4 of the 'tails' and bring them to an instructor before someone takes them, they win.

It's good for teaching them to not turn their back on their opponents and really good for grip training and sometimes even takedowns. Sometimes the best way to train boring concepts is to make a game.
