We often say that yoga becomes so much more than movement — especially for women navigating perimenopause and menopause. As two former corporate women turned yoga studio owners, now moving through this phase of life ourselves, it felt inevitable that our paths would align with Blueberry Therapy and the incredible work of Kristin Parise.
Kristen has spent years creating space for honest, evidence-based conversations around women’s health, pelvic health, sexuality, menopause, and the topics so many women were taught to stay quiet about. Through her clinic, podcast, courses, and now The Pleasure Principle Conference, she continues to help women feel informed, supported, and less alone.
At Modo Yoga Hamilton, we see every day how deeply women are craving connection, movement, nervous system support, and community during this stage of life. That’s why supporting initiatives like The Pleasure Principle feels so aligned with our mission. We are so grateful to have been involved and proud to stand beside women who are advancing conversations around health, healing, and quality of life for women everywhere.
A huge thank you as well to all of the amazing Modo Yoga Hamilton volunteers who helped support the event that day. Community is everything. ❤️

We wait all winter for the warm weather… ☀️
But don’t let summer be the reason your practice falls off.

Hot yoga in the summer hits differently.
Your body is already more open, your muscles warm up faster, and there’s something about sweating intentionally in the middle of a busy summer season that keeps you grounded, clear, and connected to yourself.

Summer schedules get full fast — patios, vacations, late nights, kids home from school, weekend plans — and before you know it, you are the thing getting pushed aside.

Let your yoga practice be the thing that keeps you feeling balanced through it all. 🌿

Come sweat with us this summer.
Not because it’s cold outside… but because you deserve to feel good inside.

Women’s hormones shift and change through every stage of life — and those shifts can impact everything from mood and stress levels to anxiety, overwhelm, and sleep. 🤍

One of the reasons so many women are drawn to hot yoga is because it offers more than just a workout.

Yoga helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system — our “rest and digest” state — helping calm the body, regulate stress hormones like cortisol, and create a sense of grounding in a world that often feels nonstop.

The result?
✨ A calmer mind
✨ Better sleep
✨ Improved mood
✨ More resilience on and off the mat

Whether you’re in your 20s, navigating motherhood, peri-menopause, menopause, or simply carrying the mental load of everyday life… hot yoga can be such a powerful tool for supporting your nervous system and overall wellbeing.

Come as you are. Leave feeling more like yourself. 💛

✨ POSE SPOTLIGHT: EXALTED WARRIOR ✨

Strong. Grounded. Open-hearted. 🔥

Exalted Warrior is a powerful posture that builds strength while creating space through the side body and heart centre. Though it looks graceful, this pose asks for both stability and surrender — a beautiful balance we practice both on and off the mat.

Benefits of Exalted Warrior:
✨ Strengthens the legs and glutes
✨ Opens the chest, ribs, and side body
✨ Improves balance and stability
✨ Builds stamina and focus
✨ Encourages spinal mobility
✨ Stretches the hips and inner thighs
✨ Can help create a sense of confidence and empowerment

In the hot room, this pose also invites you to breathe deeply through challenge and stay connected to your foundation.

Next time you flow into Exalted Warrior, notice how strong and expansive you feel at the same time. ❤️🔥

Attention women in your mid-30s, 40s, 50s and beyond — this is for you. 🔥

Peri-menopause and menopause change a lot — but movement can be one of the most powerful tools to support your body through it.

As estrogen declines during peri-menopause and menopause, women naturally become more at risk for muscle loss and decreased bone density. That’s why weight-bearing movement becomes so important during this stage of life.

Hot yoga helps support:
✨ Muscle strength
✨ Balance & stability
✨ Joint mobility
✨ Bone stimulation through weight-bearing postures
✨ Overall resilience as we age

Every plank, lunge, chair pose, and standing balance asks your body to support its own weight — helping maintain strength from the inside out.

And beyond the physical benefits?
Stepping into the hot room is a reminder that your body is still capable, powerful, and worthy of care at every stage of life. ❤️

Hot yoga isn’t just about sweating.
It’s about staying mobile, strong, resilient, and connected as we age. ✨
At Modo Yoga Hamilton, we see it every single day:
people walking in stressed, stiff, anxious, exhausted… and walking out feeling more like themselves again.
The heat helps muscles release tension.
The movement supports mobility, balance, strength, and joint health.
And the community? That part matters more than most people realize.
This isn’t about “anti-aging.”
It’s about functional longevity.
Feeling good in your body for as long as possible.
And honestly?
There’s something powerful about being in a room full of people choosing to take care of themselves together. 🔥
