Posting for my own motivation.
Haven’t really done any focused boxing training for some years although I have not lost my touch because I do teach most days…but hardly hit the bag or this beautiful wall mount.
I want to see if I can get under 140lbs by December and spend 30 minutes a week punching only this device.
I’m around 148lbs now, I like to take my time with losing weight or gaining muscle.
I have a very balanced approach, I lift weights twice a week, walk daily and teach some classes…I dance a few hours a week too…I do enough to maintain my fitness while having a decent amount of time for other things.
I don’t diet unless I have to…and in this case I will need to really tighten up because I haven’t been under 140lbs for over a decade…I want to know how that will feel.
I also want to see how much I can improve in that time by training very modestly but consistently.
I’ll probably break up the 30 minutes into 2 or 3 days…maybe 15 minutes on Tuesday and 15 minutes on Thursday.
Perhaps Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday for 10 minutes…perhaps the whole 30 minutes in one evening.
Flexibility is important and not over burdening myself is key to longevity in health and fitness especially as I age 😉
I forgot to hit the timer ⏲️ oops 😬 a four minute round 💥

“Take up space” is not a helpful phrase for all personality types…particularly introverts.
This type of thinking and functioning goes against the very nature of being introverted.
It implies that we must be more than we are or be extroverted in order to establish credibility or power.
A more helpful way of thinking is simply knowing you deserve to be there.
When you know you deserve to be in any space, there is nothing to take.
You knowing that you deserve to be where you are allows for relaxation and authenticity.
Nothing is more powerful than that.

Meet Coach Anna!
Anna is a new coach and mentee who has been with us since May. I really appreciate the space, care and knowledge she shares with our community. She’s someone you’ll be happy to see when you come down the stairs :)
With a background in yoga, Anna blends body awareness with the discipline of strength training.
For her, strength training isn’t about what your body looks like, it’s about what your body can do. It’s fun to see how quickly your body adapts to small challenges.
Her goal: help people get strong, move well, and feel at home in their bodies. Outside the gym, she enjoys puttering in the garden, keeping up with what’s happening around the community, and chipping away at books she swears she’ll finish.
You can experience her support in our Fleek Physique and Strength and Fitness classes! You may also find her at our bookclub 🤓
