Most women in perimenopause don’t need more motivation.

They need to develop essential skills.

Think about it.

Nobody expects you to play the piano without learning the basics first.

Nobody expects you to speak a new language without practice.

Yet somehow, we’re expected to lose fat without ever learning the skills that make it possible.

Instead, we’ve been sold diets, detoxes, supplements, and “fat-burning” workouts.

Then we blame ourselves when they don’t last.

The truth is, fat loss isn’t a motivation problem.

It’s a skill problem.

1. Learn how to cook.

Cooking gives you ownership over your nutrition. It teaches you how to prepare meals that support your goals instead of relying on restaurants, convenience foods, or someone else to make those decisions for you.

2. Learn to delay gratification.

Perimenopause can make cravings feel stronger, but giving in to every craving strengthens the habit of seeking immediate comfort. Learning to pause and choose what serves your future self is a skill that changes far more than your body.

3. Learn to solve problems.

Life will never stop testing you. Holidays, birthdays, travel, poor sleep, stress, and changing hormones aren’t interruptions—they’re part of life. The women who succeed aren’t the ones with perfect routines. They’re the ones who know how to adapt without giving up.

Stop asking yourself,
“How do I stay motivated?”

Start asking,
“What skill do I need to develop next?”

That question changes everything.

The price tripled.

The “Nothing looks good” feeling stayed the same.

The maître d’ thought something was wrong with my order.

I just didn’t want the inflammation that was hiding in my salad. 😂

People think getting lean is about never enjoying life.

It’s usually the opposite.

Most people will:

* Drink 600 calories without thinking.
* Then stress over the teaspoon of dressing.

The goal isn’t perfection.

It’s knowing what actually moves the needle… and what doesn’t.

Everyone wants to lose fat.

Few people are willing to do the one thing that makes it easier.

Meal prep.

If your protein is ready, you’ll eat it.
If it isn’t, you’ll make excuses.

Your results aren’t determined by motivation.
They’re determined by how prepared you are.

Meal prep isn’t optional if you’re serious about changing your body.

You don’t rise to your goals. You fall to your level of preparation.

There is no rule that says breakfast has to be cereal, toast, or oatmeal.

Some mornings I eat steak and eggs.

Other mornings it’s cottage cheese, protein pancakes, an omelette, or even leftovers.

The common denominator isn’t the food.

It’s the nutrition.

Every breakfast starts with protein. Then I add moderate carbs and healthy fats to match my goals.

That’s one of the simplest ways to stay full longer, maintain muscle, keep energy steady, and make fat loss in perimenopause easier.

Stop asking, “What should I eat for breakfast?”

Start asking, “How can I get 30–40g of protein into my first meal?”

That one shift can change the rest of your day.

You don’t need “cheat meals.” You need better versions of the foods you already love.

Most restaurant meals aren’t high in calories because of the rice, potatoes, or pasta.

They’re high in calories because of the butter, oils, creamy sauces, and hidden fats used to cook them.

At home, you can make the same meals:
• Keep the protein.
• Keep the carbs.
• Keep the flavour.
• Skip the unnecessary oils.

You get a meal that actually fills you up, satisfies your cravings, and still supports fat loss.

Stop trying to “earn” cheat meals.

Start building meals you never feel guilty eating.

The biggest reason most people never start a weight loss program isn’t because they don’t want to change.

It’s because they think they’ll have to give up the foods they love.

No desserts.
No chocolate.
No fruit.
No eating out.

So they put it off until “Monday.”

Then next month.

Then next year.

The truth is, sustainable fat loss doesn’t come from eliminating your favorite foods.

It comes from learning how to build meals around them while staying within your calorie and protein targets.

These are four meals from one day while losing body fat in perimenopause.

No cheat day required.

If your nutrition plan feels like punishment, you won’t stick with it.

Build a plan you actually enjoy, and consistency becomes a whole lot easier.
