Attended my 30 year high school reunion in Calgary on the weekend. WHAT A TRIP!
Was so wonderful to connect with friends from the past and the present. And so neat to reconnect with friends that I went to elementary school with! Life is a wild ride.
But my most favourite part was to look around the room and see my besties. The friends I made 30 plus years ago and am still making memories with today. The second pic is with my bestie Kelly, whom I met way back in 1990!
I know people have mixed feelings about high school but if you can handle it, and have the opportunity, it can be really cool to revisit those years.
Oak Bay Recreation registration starts tomorrow morning! That’s Wednesday, April 8th at 6:30 am.
Sign up through Oak Bay, either online, in-person, or over the phone.
You can get all the info on my site. Link in bio. Head to the Yoga Classes tab and click on In-Person Yoga4Strength.

6 spots are open in my March/April classes at Oak Bay Recreation!
Are you wanting to get into an in-person Yoga4Strength class? This is your chance! Usually my classes are very full with a waitlist, so take advantage of this and get in!
We are a few classes into the March session but there are still 4 classes to go. Note that the Monday classes will run over spring break but not Easter Monday, and the Wednesday classes are paused for spring break and will resume on April 1.
If you are keen to join you can sign-up through Oak Bay Recreation online, by phone, or in-person.
The session is pro-rated so you’ll only pay for the 4 classes.
Hope to see you on the mat!
25 years of teaching, 25 tips to be a great teacher. Tip number 25!
Teaching yoga classes is all about building relationships! Get out there and meet people. Network and build bridges.
No one has to hire you. You have to hustle to get yourself out there. Hustle!
As I’ve mentioned a lot, self employment is not for the faint of heart. But it’s the best!
Now go forth and kick butt!
Thanks so much for joining me in this series! I had a lot of fun making it. I hope you enjoyed it!

Be authentic! Be yourself! That’s it. Be YOU!

There are so many ways you can have a career teaching yoga. For me, it’s my full time job, I’m incredibly blessed that I can make a good living teaching classes and retreats. But - it’s hard! Self employment is not for the faint of heart.
I want to see teachers thrive and for some folks that means teaching part time. Maybe teaching classes in a side hustle rather than a full time gig. It’s important to be realistic and this life isn’t a fit for everyone.
You can still be an amazing teacher without it being your only job!

Listen! Pay attention when your students talk to you. Be present. This is a simple, but difficult one. Give people the gift of listening to them.

Say less! Learn how to get the same message out with less words. And let folks have time in silence.
This takes practice of course, it all does! But learning to be more concise in communication is helpful on many levels!
