went the distance but didn't get the W tonight. His opponent was dangerous and employed some great timing and powerful strikes to control the distance for the majority of the fight and secure the win.

There were some great moments for Waylon and a lot of lessons will be taken from this bout. Rest, train the gaps, do it again.

We got to meet baby Emma today and you can tell from the look in her eyes that she's a warrior. Probably got that from her mom... 😉

We've had the pleasure of coaching some amazing athletes over the past couple of weeks.

took home the BFL 135 title on April 17th. The work she has put in showed as she executed her gameplan to near perfection.

Tonight, we cornered both and in their debut bouts.

Graham put in three hard rounds and lost his kickboxing bout by decision. He stayed poised, looked skillful, barley took any damage, and walked away with experience that will serve him going forward.

Boma was able to secure a first round RNC victory in his MMA bout. His opponent came out fast but Boma stayed calm, met the aggression, and was able to force an error that allowed him to take his opponent down and get the choke.

Big thank you the team for helping prep all three athletes, for helping to coach and corner, and for keeping the gym going while I'm away.🙏

Next weekend is WAKO Nationals with four athletes. Let's go!

Finally putting together a quick post about and and their incredible performances.

Aron put together a brilliant debut performance against who made it tough from start to finish. Aron stayed in his face and jammed his opponent's right hand after we saw what a laser it was. Aron scored a decision victory and got out of there uninjured and ready to get back to work after a short break.

Kaity didn't get a win in the judges scorecards but she definitely got a win in terms of her development. By the time she came to train with us, she was already well trained by and who built the vast majority of her skill set. What we tried to improve on was her footwork and holding stance and she demonstrated that work exceptionally for 5 gruelling rounds. Her opponent, kept up an incredible pace and took the win but we are grateful to her for providing a bout that will help Kaity improve her craft.

I would like to take a moment to recognize the birthday of someone who has been a cornerstone of the Unlimited family since its beginnings in 2013. He was invited to a class by a friend and as soon as he started moving around, it was obvious he was already a skilled kickboxer. It wasn’t long before I asked him if he might be interested in doing some instruction and he jumped on board. Neither of us could have guessed the ride we were about to go on. Mere months later, we were in a full-time location and within a year, he was standing in my corner for the first time as I climbed back into the ring after over 3 ½ years between fights. He was with me through 13 fights, three of which were title bouts, and I will never be able to adequately express my gratitude to him for his unwavering support.

Coach John has stood in my corner, and the corner of all the Unlimited family, both literally and figuratively, for over 11 years. He is a staple in our community, and he has helped to change the lives of the many people he has coached, cornered, and supported in general. He takes time from his life to show up to tournaments and fights to coach, to support athletes with padwork in the gym, by being a calm and composed presence, and he does it all without ever uttering a single complaint. He is an integral part of this gym and it’s obvious that we would not be here without him. I didn’t want to let his birthday pass without saying just how much I, and all the members of our gym, appreciate what he does for us all.

We are getting close!!!

This event is going to be incredible. We haven't had live kickboxing shows since before the pandemic and the athletes are all working hard to prepare so they can demonstrate why it's one of the most exciting sports out there. There will be athletes competing out of Victoria, Vancouver, and 3 flying in all the way from Ontario. Our main event will see a Canadian title bout with Suraj Bangarh and our co-main event will see the return of King James Sebunyana.
