šŸ“£ THE PART OF BEING A NETBALL COACH NO ONE EVER SEES

Sometimes the people you love the MOSTā€¦

get the WORST version of you when you finally get home.

And nobody really talks about that.

Your players got your patience.

Your team got your energy.

The player who was struggling got your encouragement.

The nervous player got your confidence.

The frustrated player got your calm.

You answered messages, organised training, sorted fixtures, made decisions, solved problems, planned sessions, filled gaps and somehow tried to be everything everyone needed.

You coached.

You encouraged.

You listened.

You cared.

Then you finally get homeā€¦

and someone you love asks:

ā€œWhereā€™s my uniform?ā€

And you could honestly cry. šŸ˜­

Not because theyā€™ve done anything wrong.

Because you have NOTHING LEFT.

Your family wants your attention. Your phone is still buzzing. There are messages waiting. Your brain is still thinking about the player who struggled tonight, the session you need to plan and the match coming up.

Because coaching doesnā€™t always finish when the final whistle goes.

Your body might leave the sports hallā€¦

but your mind is still on the court.

And THAT is the part people donā€™t see when they say:

ā€œItā€™s only netball.ā€

Because to a coach, itā€™s never just netball.

Itā€™s people.

Itā€™s responsibility.

Itā€™s commitment.

Itā€™s caring.

Itā€™s giving everything you have to help someone else believe in themselves.

And sometimes, after giving everything to your playersā€¦

you get home and realise thereā€™s nothing left in the tank.

So to every coach who sits in the car for five minutes before going insideā€¦

I see you. ā¤ļø

Youā€™re not just coaching a sport.

Youā€™re building confidence, creating memories and giving young people somewhere to belong.

And sometimes that takes more out of you than anyone will ever know. šŸā¤ļø

At Thundercats Netball, thereā€™s one message we will keep repeating to our players:

Heads up. Itā€™s okay. Letā€™s go. Move on. Keep going.

Because mistakes happen. Bad passes happen. Shots donā€™t always go in. Games donā€™t always go our way. And thatā€™s okay.

Winning is a bonus to us. It is never the measure of a player.

We donā€™t shout. We donā€™t judge. We donā€™t compare.
We coach. We nurture. We encourage. We listen. We care.

We believe in every single one of our players ā€” sometimes even before they believe in themselves.

And when we ask a player to step into a position that isnā€™t their favourite, it isnā€™t because we doubt them. Itā€™s because we know they are capable of more than they realise. We see the potential. We see the fight. We see the player they can become.

We will never compare our girls to each other. Their journeys are their own. Instead, we give them the confidence, skills and support to become the very best version of themselves.

Every girl who walks through our doors belongs here.
Whatever their ability. Whatever their experience. Whatever their journey.

We will find their strengths. We will celebrate their skills. We will help them grow. And we will remind them, every step of the way, that they have a place on this team.

Because netball is about so much more than winning.

Itā€™s about confidence.
Friendship.
Resilience.
Believing in yourself.
Picking yourself back up.
And knowing that even on the days when things donā€™t go rightā€¦

Continuing our Meet the Committee seriesā€¦ itā€™s our Ange! ā¤ļøšŸ–¤

The ultimate ā€œMumsyā€ of the group, Ange is the person who is always there looking after everyone. Whether you need a helping hand, a word of encouragement, someone to step in, or simply someone who cares ā€” Ange is there. šŸ„¹ā¤ļø

Our resident umpire, Ange will put her name down for anything umpire-related without hesitation! But her commitment goes SO much further than our club. She has given thousands of hours to volunteering, not only for Thundercats but at some of the biggest sporting events in the country. From the Olympics, to the Netball World Cup, and most recently the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow ā€” Ange has been there, giving her time, experience and passion to the sport she absolutely loves. šŸšŸŒŽ

Behind all of that is simply one of the kindest, most caring and selfless people you could ever meet. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and she gives so much of herself to help others.

Ange, we honestly donā€™t know what weā€™d do without you. Your dedication, kindness, support and endless volunteering never go unnoticed.

Thank you for everything you do for us, Ange. We are incredibly lucky to have you as part of our Thundercats family. ā¤ļøšŸ–¤

Thunderstorm played their first game in the adult league last week and they absolutely smashed it!

Did what they do best and won! In an extremely nail biting finish with a final interception by Coach Clare to clinch the win! 22-21 to Storm!
