As Brodie Harrison prepares to head back to New Zealand this week, we want to take the opportunity to say a huge thank you to our overseas player for this season.

What a season it has been for Brodie!
-1,008 runs at an average of 63 💥
-34 wickets at an average of 22.67 ↔️
-13 catches, the most outside of WKs at the club 🤲

Those numbers tell their own story, but Brodie has contributed so much more to Bangor Cricket Club than what appears on a scorecard. From his performances on the pitch, helping the 1XI achieve promotion to the Premier League, to his work off it, Brodie has thrown himself into club life from day one.

His incredible performance at Po***ck Park earlier in the season will live long in the memory as he scored an astonishing 172*. He bowled a crucial 10 over spell conceding just 45 runs and picking up an important late wicket as the firsts picked up an incredible 2 run victory against our promotion rivals.

He has given his time to help coach and encourage the next generation of Bangor cricketers in our Youth Section, passing on his knowledge and enthusiasm to our junior players. He has also been more than willing to get stuck in whenever a helping hand was needed around the grounds. That willingness to get involved, support others and become part of the wider club is something everyone appreciates.

Cheers Brodie for everything you’ve contributed to Bangor CC this season, on the field and around the club. You’ve certainly left your mark, and you’ll always be part of a very special season in the club’s history.

We hope you’ve enjoyed your time with us as much as we’ve enjoyed having you. Safe travels back to New Zealand and hopefully it’s ’see ya later’ rather than goodbye! 👀

Saturday marked the official opening of the newly reburbished clubhouse at UP with distinguished guests including NCU President Ian Houston, Bangor CC Chairman Peter McIlwaine and Men’s 1XI Captain Johnny Parker. 💙💛

Fantasy Friday 💙💛

It’s time to announce the winners of our 2026 Fantasy CC game!

The winner of the Overall League is… 🥁

… Beachy and it is richly deserved. He’s been the outstanding manager being the overall leader for the majority of the season and being a lock on 1st place for most of the season. Very well done Beachy on winning the £100 prize, you have fulfilled your destiny and put to bed the bottler moniker! 👏

In runner-up is this seasons early leader in Browny who couldn’t quite maintain his early season form but 2nd represents an excellent season for Browny. The battle for 3rd was a keenly contested fight between several managers in the final week of the season but it is the 2024 Champion Patto who used his know how to finish on the podium. 🥈🥉

Just missing out and having to settle for 4th is the mysterious/enigmatic Paul Baker who finishes one place better compared to 2025. In 5th place is last years champion Batesy who struggled for consistency to defend his crown. In 6th place is the DoC Butsy with his Flat Track Bullies having a solid debut season and picking up the £5 reward is this years World Cup Champion Reuben who squeezed his way into the top 7. 💰

Congrats to this seasons winners who’ll receive their prizes shortly and thanks again to all the managers who played this season… Fantasy CC will return in 2027!

Bangor Cricket Club is celebrating one of the most successful youth seasons in its history after a summer that delivered silverware, representative honours and continued growth across its thriving junior section.

With more than 280 boys and girls aged between four and fifteen taking part in cricket throughout the season, Bangor continues to be one of the largest and most vibrant youth cricket programmes in Northern Ireland. The club currently fields 11 youth teams, providing opportunities for youngsters of all abilities to enjoy the sport through age-group cricket ranging from Under-11 to Under-15 level for both boys and girls.

The 2026 season will be remembered not only for the number of trophies won, but also for the way Bangor’s young players represented the club, displaying skill, determination, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the summer.

Now that the dust has finally settled, it’s time to reflect on what a night Thursday turned out to be for our Men’s 1XI!

With the league win and promotion all hanging in the balance, the final few overs couldn’t have been scripted by a Hollywood script writer! As the Bangor game entered its closing stages, news filtered through that Lurgan and Carrickfergus had finished as a tie! A result that arrived 5–10 minutes before the conclusion of our own game. So Carrick had clinched the league title and now Bangor had to ensure they didn’t lose their match to gain promotion.

With every run, wicket and ball suddenly carrying even more significance, the tension around the ground was something else. Bangor though were strong favourites heading into the final over but with darkness descending 3 runs all of a sudden became an immense challenge. Bangor picked up the all important 2 runs to confirm the tie at least from the penultimate delivery but a wicket on the final ball incredibly meant another tied game! Then NV Play and phone signal seemed to fail everyone as 10mins passed before finally the league table loaded to confirm Bangor had finished in 2nd place and promoted to the Premier League!

A huge congratulations to skipper Johnny Parker and every player who has pulled on the Bangor shirt throughout the campaign. Promotion is the reward for a season of excellent performances, hard work and consistency. The squad should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved in what was an incredibly hard thought and competitive promotion battle.

A special word of thanks also goes to for their fantastic cooperation on Thursday evening. After a heavy shower hit the ground midway through the match, their players and volunteers worked tirelessly alongside everyone else to get the pitch fit for play again, with daylight fading and the clock against us. Their efforts helped ensure we could get the game finished and a result recorded.

And finally, thank you to everyone who has supported the 1XI throughout the season, whether at Upritchard Park, on the road or following along online. Your support means a huge amount to the players and the club. 💙💛
