Out last week working on an ML training for Mark Garland

Looking at how to manage groups in steep terrain from coaching movement skills, picking a suitable line through terrain and spotting clients on tricky steps and use the rope to give confidence.

All the way through to using the rope in an unplanned emergency situation. To safeguard clients up and down short sections of consequential terrain and to safely get the leader down these sections also

A great privilege to be involved with the development of these future Mountain Leaders journey and development.

Do you know what to do if something goes wrong while climbing?

We spent the Bank Holiday weekend working for Andy Brown teaching just that!

Starying Indy Climbing Wall on the Saturday, taking advantage of some dry space to learn the building blocks before putting the skills into practice in context at Lion Rock on the Sunday.

Loads of skills learnt and practiced.

We were out over the weekend for John Lees | Mountaineering Instructor | North Wales running a Sport Climbing development course with Anthie.

The slate quarries provided plenty of opportunities to practice some movement skills in the morning.

We then helped Anthie develop a simple and robust system for rethreading sport anchors that works with a range of anchor types.

Then to a busy sidings for her to get a haldful pf lead climbs herself. Using all the skills we learnt earlier in the day.

Chris dispatching the crux of Curved Ridge on day 2nd and final day of his Classic Scottish Ridges course with us.

Still no views, though the waterproofs stayed off, managing to race down before the rain came.

July has been a great month for climbing with weeks of dry, stable weather.

But it wasnt all work, a couple of days and evenings cragging has been great too!

For day 3 with us, we warmed up climbing at Holyhead Mountain.

Tired arms and minds, we decided to save Castell Helen for another time.

Instead we relocated to an afternoon at Bus Stop Quarry where we repeated Equinox, Ed's firat trad climb second. He found this much easier than before, showing his progression!

We then spent some time for Ed to have some attempts at the harder Solstice, learning to work and project a climb.

Great 3 days out doing 15 Pitches of climbing with a load of learning in between!

Day 2 of our Sea Cliff Climbing Course started at Porth y Garan, where Ed built his own abseil and safely got himself to the bottom of the crag.

We climbed half a dozen S and VS pitches here and a strong effort on an E1!

Wanting to challenge himself further we headed over to Llawder Zawn and climbed Icarus (pictured). The heat made it feel much steeper at the top than I remember!

Another top day out with some great efforts from Ed.

We have availability for climbing courses next week.
