🔴⚫ JTFC FOUNDATION ACADEMY – TRAINING REPORT ⚽
What a fantastic Saturday morning we had once again at the JUNIOR TYKES FOUNDATION ACADEMY! 🙌⚽
Week after week, our boys and girls continue to impress us, and this morning was no exception! Now that everyone is becoming more settled and comfortable in their respective groups, we’re really starting to see the benefits during our training sessions. Confidence is growing, standards are improving, and the coaches are beginning to turn up the intensity as we challenge our young footballers to take the next steps in their development! 💪🔥
There’s plenty of hard work going on, lots of smiles, some fantastic football being played, and, of course, a few crunching tackles along the way! 😂⚽ Let’s find out how each group got on!
🔴 COACH KYLE REPORTS – RED GROUP
Another brilliant session from our RED GROUP this morning! The energy, enthusiasm and effort from everyone were excellent, with the boys continuing to show some really good standards throughout the training drills. 👏
The concentration levels were high, the boys were listening carefully to instructions, and it was great to see them putting what they’d learned into practice. And when it came to the all-important game at the end of the session, well, that never disappoints! Plenty of action, some lovely football and lots of excitement as the boys put their skills to the test! ⚽🔥
🏅 MVP MEDAL WINNER – LEWIS
A big well done to LEWIS, who was rewarded for his excellent concentration and willingness to listen. Lewis was really focused during the drills and managed to get things right first time around! A fantastic effort and a thoroughly deserved MVP medal! 👏🏅
⚫ COACH KYLE REPORTS – BLACK GROUP
Next up, our BLACK GROUP, who also put in a terrific shift this morning! 💪
The boys worked really hard throughout the drills, showing a great willingness to learn, listen and, most importantly, try something new. This morning’s focus included passing the ball using the inside of the foot and looking to play the ball accurately to a teammate. It’s a skill that takes practice, but the boys really got stuck in and showed some great progress!
The football on display during the end-of-session game was class! 👌 There were some lovely passages of play, with the boys beginning to understand the importance of using the correct technique and looking for their teammates rather than simply kicking the ball wherever they could!
🏅 MVP MEDAL WINNER – FRANKIE
Well done to FRANKIE, who certainly gave us a moment to remember! 😂 Frankie was initially trying to pass the ball using his toes, so Coach Kyle reminded him to use the inside of his foot instead. And what happened next? He absolutely smashed it! Brilliant stuff, Frankie! Sometimes all it takes is a little reminder before everything clicks into place! 👏🏅
🔵 COACH JAMIE REPORTS – BLUE GROUP
Another excellent session from our BLUE GROUP this morning! 🔵⚽
Coach Jamie was delighted with the boys’ efforts, and it’s becoming increasingly clear just how much progress they’re making. Individual improvements are starting to shine through, and perhaps even more importantly, we’re seeing their confidence grow week by week.
Whether it’s having the confidence to try a new skill, getting involved in the drills or being brave enough to take on an opponent during the game, these little steps forward make a huge difference at this age. It’s fantastic to see the boys enjoying their football while continuing to develop their skills and understanding of the game! 🙌
🏅 MVP MEDAL WINNER – CHESTER
A massive well done to CHESTER, who was rewarded with this week’s MVP medal! Keep up the great work, Chester, and keep believing in yourself! 👏🏅
🟢 COACH PAUL REPORTS – GREEN GROUP
WOW! Another fantastic turnout for our GREEN GROUP, and these boys and girls just seem to get better and better every single week! 🟢🔥
The enthusiasm is always there, and it’s brilliant to watch their confidence develop as they become more comfortable with the ball and more adventurous in their football.
This morning, we decided to throw something a little different into the mix by introducing the FOUR-GOAL GAME! ⚽⚽⚽⚽
This challenge encourages the players to look up, find space, make decisions and recognise that there is more than one direction in which to attack. It’s a great way to get young footballers thinking for themselves, moving into space and developing their awareness of what’s happening around them.
And how did our GREEN GROUP respond to this new challenge? They absolutely took it in their stride! The boys and girls embraced the activity brilliantly, got stuck in and produced a fantastic performance from start to finish. Plenty of movement, plenty of effort and some lovely football along the way! 👏
🏅 MVP MEDAL WINNERS – OSCAR & GEORGE
A huge well done to OSCAR and GEORGE, who both earned themselves an MVP medal for their efforts this morning. Keep working hard, keep enjoying your football, and keep up that fantastic progress! 🏅🙌
🟡 COACH PAUL REPORTS – YELLOW GROUP
Last, but certainly not least, our YELLOW GROUP! 🟡
These young footballers also took on the four-goal game this morning, and just like their GREEN GROUP counterparts, they absolutely smashed it! 💥
It’s worth remembering that this group contains the youngest players across our Academy, but you’d never know it from the way they approach their sessions! They continue to show bags of enthusiasm, plenty of determination and a fantastic willingness to get involved in everything we throw at them.
The four-goal game was another great opportunity to encourage the boys and girls to look up, find space and make their own decisions. They embraced the challenge brilliantly, and it was lovely to see them trying new things while enjoying every minute of their football.
And then came the end game! 😲😂
Let’s just say there was no shortage of commitment! We had crunching tackle after crunching tackle, with the players showing plenty of bravery as they battled for possession. They certainly weren’t afraid to get stuck in, and the determination on display was fantastic to see! 💪⚽

Well done to RONNIE and ELLIOTT W., who were our MVP medal winners this morning! A fantastic achievement for both boys, and a lovely reward for their efforts. Keep bringing that enthusiasm every week! 👏🏅

We also had a few new faces joining us this morning, so it’s time to give them the usual JUNIOR TYKES FOOTBALL CLUB WELCOME! ❤️🖤
A massive welcome to LENNY, ELLIS and THOMAS! We hope you all enjoyed your first session with us and that you have a fantastic time as part of our Foundation Academy family.
A special mention to THOMAS, who was with us last year and has decided to come back and give it another go! It’s brilliant to have you back with us, Thomas. We hope you enjoy being back out on the pitch and continue to grow in confidence as you get stuck into your football again! ⚽🙌

And just like that, another Saturday morning at the Foundation Academy has flown by! ⏰⚽
It’s amazing how quickly an hour can disappear when you’re surrounded by enthusiastic young footballers who are learning, developing, making friends and, most importantly, enjoying themselves.
Across all five groups, we’ve seen fantastic effort, growing confidence, a willingness to learn and some brilliant little moments that remind us exactly why we love what we do. Every player develops at their own pace, and it’s those small improvements, week after week, that make all the hard work worthwhile.
A huge well done to all our boys and girls, a big thank you to our coaches for another brilliant morning, and a warm welcome once again to our newest Academy members! 👏❤️🖤
Of course, we haven’t even finished this week’s sessions before we’re already planning what challenges we’ll have in store for everyone next Saturday! 😁
