Worsbrough Bridge AFC

It was a hard fought point at Park Road against one of the Macron Northern Counties East Football League Premier Division fancied teams Golcar United.

A Charlie Austerfield opener for the Briggers in the 2nd half set the tone as the Golcar then went on to make 2 top saves to keep the visitors in the game.

But with seconds ticking away the visitors forced an equaliser from Ashley Flynn with 90 on the watch and thats how it stayed in front of 226 fans in what was a good battle between the teams.

With 4 points on the table after 2 games and no game Saturday we move onto a midweek trip to Pickering next week.

As we countdown to kick off against Golcar United AFC can we remind all fans to park with courtesy around the ground. Please do not block drives or pathways.

Additional car park spaces are available at Worsbrough Mill next to our ground until 10pm.

Snacks & cold drinks will be available in the Briggers Bar for tonights game, unfortunately no hot food will be available.

And we are back at home for the 1st time this season as we welcome Golcar United to Barnsley.

Both teams had wins on the opening day so it is set up nicely. The visitors are tipped by many to be challenging so it will be a big test on our home turf.

FA CUP NEWS 🏆

After a 25 year wait our FA Cup game against Trafford FC will take place on Sunday 9th August at 2pm.

It is a game to get the mouth watering on our home ground so get the date booked in & join us on the long road to Wembley !

It was a winning start for the Briggers in the Macron Northern Counties East Football League Premier Division with a hard fought but well deserved win away at Rossington Main.

The Briggers first ever goal at step 5 was scored by Keelan Grist but had it not been for an excellent goalkeeping display from the Rosso keeper it could have been more on a day when every player gave a good account.

Today we start a new season & new adventure as we dip our toes into the Macron Northern Counties East Football League Prem for the 1st time ever.

Many never thought it would happen, but it did !

The players will give the club everything again, we know its going to be hard but lets get behind the team, your support can & will make a difference.
