Skin cancer is caused by over exposure to UV (ultraviolet) light. Over 4,000 people in Northern Ireland will be diagnosed with skin cancer each year, almost 1 in 10 of these are malignantโฃ melanoma, the most serious form.โฃ
Thereโs lots of ways you can protect your skin and eyes from UV damage such as staying in the shade and applying sunscreen regularly.โฃ

We were delighted to take part in this great event organised by Mount Oriel Day Centre on Thursday 26 March 26. โฃ
Jenni and Lauren provided health advice, health checks and a friendly chat to the wonderful carers in attendance. Carers are the unsung heroes who provide support in our communities and we are delighted to help anyway we can ๐ช๐ผ๐๐ผ ๐

Preventable childhood infections can have a huge impact on a childโs life. They can miss out on education due to time spent unwell, be hospitalised, have life-long complications such as deafness, blindness and paralysis. Sometimes theyโฃ
can even cause death.โฃ
Childhood immunisation can help keep your child safe. To see if your child is up to date with their childhood vaccinations, check their red book, or contact your GP practice.โฃ

The NI childhood immunisation schedule has changed, it now provides more protection from illness with the introduction of the varicella (chickenpox) vaccine.โฃ
Eligible children will be offered a combined vaccin๐ for measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV) as part of the routine infant vaccination schedule.โฃ
As with other childhood immunisations, parents will be contacted by their GP surgery to arrange an appointment if their child is eligible. If you are unsure if your child is up to date with vaccinations, the easiest way to check is to look at yourโฃ
childโs red book or speak to your health visitor or GP.โฃ
