Congratulations to club member and professional tennis player, Dylan Leeman who has won the playoff for a wildcard in the ATP Challenger tournament in Dublin. This is very exciting for him and tennis as a whole in Ireland.
Tennis glamour in the shape of Grigor Dimitrov, Kokkinakis, as well as players from just outside the top 100 in the world will arrive in Dublin this week for the men’s ATP Challenger 75 tournament at Elm Park Golf & Sports Club in Donnybrook.
Professional tennis at a level just below ATP Tour events returns to Ireland for the first tournament of its kind on Irish soil in almost 20 years.
Qualification for the competition begins on Sunday with the main draw matches running through next week and the final taking place on Saturday, June 20th.
We are all delighted for Dylan to get his opportunity to compete against this level of player. We also note that our other professional player, Cian McDonnell, was very close to qualification too, losing out to Dylan in the semi-final.

What a brilliant night last Saturday — an evening that will live long in the memories of everyone who attended.
We were especially honoured to hear from member, Claire Curran, who spoke so eloquently about what our club means to her. Her words truly captured the spirit and community that make our club so special.
A huge thank you to the members who worked so hard to organise such a fantastic evening: Tierna Watson, Louise Cotton, Fionnuala McLernon, Johnny Laughlin and Paul Wickens.
Congratulations and thank you to them — and to all our members — for making it such a truly wonderful occasion.

Last weekend saw a padel team from Belfast Boat Club compete in the inaugural fixture with Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club in Dublin. The event was an amazing success with great matches both across Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed events, 4 of the 6 matches decided on a tie-break. However, Boat Club eventually ran out winners 4-2, so congratulations to the team of Mark Nicholas, John Dullaghan, Ger Connery, Declan Magee, Damian Bannon, Katherine Bready, Joanne Corrigan, and Kristina Sinclair. The hosts provided excellent hospitality and We look forward to the return fixture later this year, which will no doubt be another fantastic event.
