The amount of work coach Gunning poured into our team has been incredible to witness. He has successfully increased the football IQ of so many players and fellow coaches during his four years as coach.
He has a fantastic football brain, is an extremely talented coach and I look forward to witnessing the next project he puts his energy into thrive as we have done. In one of our earliest conversations coach told me one of his ambitions was to leave the club in a better place than he found it. Well coach, congratulations because you have succeeded in that ambition. Thank you.
🎤 Speaking on the announcement himself, Phil said: “The past four years have been the most challenging and rewarding that I’ve spent in the sport in Ireland. I'll be eternally grateful to Hassan Jaafar, Barry Keil and Mark McGrath for taking a chance on me to hold the reins. To Jimmie Johnson III, for helping me become a better coach and especially to everyone that spent all four years here for trusting me to lead you each season. We had a lot of fun, and I can't wait to see what the club does next. Trojans vs Everybody.”
