SUPER proud of you Carrie. 🙌🏻🏅

Sunday Carrie completed her first 50K ultramarathon in the Lake District, running the Lake District Ultra Challenge after months of dedicated training, consistency and hard work.

This challenge started when some of her fellow members from Blackpool Freedom Runners encouraged her to take on the event. Together they trained, supported one another and ultimately stood on the start line ready to tackle 50 km through the stunning Lake District.

As coaches, there is nothing better than seeing someone set themselves a huge goal and then go out and achieve it.

Carrie has been a regular at our weekly strength training sessions and has always embraced the process, understanding that strength training is about much more than building muscle. 💪🏻🏋🏼‍♀️

In Carrie's words:

"Strength training has not only built stronger muscles but stability and resilience, it has helped me run more efficiently, tackle challenging terrain with confidence and reduce my risk of injury.

The improvements I've seen in both my physical and mental strength have given me the belief to push beyond my comfort zone, whether that's taking on longer distances, ultramarathons or completing the LiRF qualification and becoming a Run Leader."

A huge congratulations also to the Blackpool Freedom Runners crew who trained together, supported each other throughout the journey and took on this incredible challenge as a team.

Carrie, enjoy celebrating this one. You should be incredibly proud of yourself. You've earned every step of that finish line. 🏃‍♀️💜

All the love, Ems ❤️

It's not all gym sessions, strength training and running at Ems Fitness Hub.🏋🏼‍♀️

Today the team and Hub Ambassadors swapped barbells for axes and headed out for a bit of friendly competition.🪓

One of the best things we've built is a genuine community. People who support each other inside the gym and enjoy spending time together outside of it too.

There may have been some surprisingly good axe throwing.
There may also have been some truly terrible attempts. 😂

A great afternoon with great people. 🥰
Want to join our friendly, supportive community? We are here to welcome you.

All the love, Ems ❤️💜

What an incredible achievement 💚

This week, Luke completed an astonishing 5 Marathons in 5 Days in support of The Big Food Project and Ron's Run.

Through soaring temperatures, tired legs and over 130 miles on the road, he just kept going.

What has been equally incredible is the support shown along the way. From people joining him on sections of the route, cheering from the sidelines, donating, sharing posts and helping spread the word, this challenge has truly brought the community together.

To top it all off, Blackpool Tower was lit up green on World Hunger Day in support of the challenge and the work of The Big Food Project.

The impact has been huge, with around 8,500 meals already donated to help people in our local community.

Luke, we're incredibly proud of you. The determination, commitment and heart you've shown over the last five days has been inspiring to watch.

If you'd still like to support this amazing cause, donations are still open. Just £5 can provide 10 meals for someone who needs them most

Well done Luke. What a week. What a challenge. What a difference you've made.

All the love, Ems, Mitch and the whole Hub Team ❤️💜

One of the biggest things we hear? 🤔

“I almost didn’t come because I was so nervous.”

Most people joining us are not gym confident.
They’re not super fit.
They’re not people who’ve trained for years.

They’re normal people wanting to feel stronger, healthier and feel more like themselves again.

That’s why our small group sessions are designed to feel welcoming, supportive and coached at every level.

If you’ve been thinking about starting but feel unsure, you’re very welcome to come and try a free taster session and see what we’re all about.

📩 Pop us a message with any questions and to book your taster.

All the love, Ems ❤️

Strength training isn’t just about changing how your body looks or lifting heavier weights. 💪🏻

As we move through our 40s and beyond, it plays a huge role in supporting muscle mass, bone health, balance, joint support and confidence in everyday life. It’s one of the best things we can do to stay strong, capable and independent long term.

Strength training really is for everyone, regardless of experience level. If you’re unsure where to start, we can help. Just drop us a 📩 and give one of our group sessions a try. 💜

From May 25th to 29th, Luke will be taking on 5 Marathons in 5 Days to raise money and awareness for The Big Food Project through Ron’s Run. 🏃🏼

This challenge is about more than running.

It’s about continuing the incredible work being done through Ron’s Run and The Big Food Project to help feed people in our local community and make sport accessible for everyone.

Every donation helps support families who are struggling right now while also helping pay sport forward so more people can get involved, move more and feel part of something positive.

Blackpool has some of the most deprived areas in the country and projects like this genuinely make a difference to people who need support.

On World Hunger Day, Thursday 29th May, Luke will take on Day 4 of the challenge while also encouraging people to Move a Mile, Give a Meal ❤️

We’ve seen first hand through Ron’s Run how this community shows up for others and we’d love to help get behind this challenge too.

If you can donate, sponsor, share or support in any way, it all helps.

Good luck Luke. Huge challenge ahead but for an incredible cause 💪🏻

All the love, Ems 💜

What a brilliant night at Ron’s Run 🏃🏼‍♀🏃🏼

We’d been collecting food donations at the hub over the last couple of weeks and with the extra donations on the night, as a group we helped raise an incredible HALF A TONNE of food for The Big Food Project.

Honestly just such a good example of what community can do when people come together.

There were people of all ages and abilities there last night walking, running, jeffing, chatting and supporting each other. No pressure, no judgement, just a really friendly atmosphere and people getting involved for a great cause.

We’re really proud to support events like this and proud of everyone from Ems Fitness Hub who came down and took part. It was also lovely seeing some of our Saturday Run Club members out there too, especially those who only started running with us back in January. To see the confidence and progress they’ve made in just a few months is such a brilliant achievement.

A massive well done to Luke and everyone involved in organising another brilliant Ron’s Run 🥰

All the love, Ems and Mitch 💜❤️

Barbara lined up at the Chester 100 this weekend and covered 65 miles before stepping off the course.

Not the outcome she trained for, but that doesn’t take away from what went into getting to that start line or the effort out there.

Ultras are unpredictable. They ask a lot physically and mentally, and sometimes the strongest decision you can make is to stop.

The challenges of an ultra should never be underestimated. There’s a lot to take from this, and plenty more to come.

All the love, Ems and Mitch ❤️ 💜

Ron’s Run is back 🙌🏻 – 6th May

We’ll be supporting it again this year and it’s always a really good community event.

Entry is simple… just bring a food donation for The Big Food Project ❤️
We’ll also be collecting at the Hub in the lead up if you can’t make the night.

There’s something for everyone across the evening, whether you want a steady mile, a walk, or to push the pace a bit more.

Our Ems Fitness Hub Mile is at 6.50pm
Ideal if you’re newer to running, getting back into it, or just want to keep things comfortable.
Also a really good one for our newer run club members to come along to and get involved.

No pressure, just a chance to be part of it.

Would be great to see a few of you there and support getting as much food collected as possible this year.

All the love Ems and Mitch ❤️💜
