SUPER proud of you Carrie. 🙌🏻🏅
Sunday Carrie completed her first 50K ultramarathon in the Lake District, running the Lake District Ultra Challenge after months of dedicated training, consistency and hard work.
This challenge started when some of her fellow members from Blackpool Freedom Runners encouraged her to take on the event. Together they trained, supported one another and ultimately stood on the start line ready to tackle 50 km through the stunning Lake District.
As coaches, there is nothing better than seeing someone set themselves a huge goal and then go out and achieve it.
Carrie has been a regular at our weekly strength training sessions and has always embraced the process, understanding that strength training is about much more than building muscle. 💪🏻🏋🏼♀️
In Carrie's words:
"Strength training has not only built stronger muscles but stability and resilience, it has helped me run more efficiently, tackle challenging terrain with confidence and reduce my risk of injury.
The improvements I've seen in both my physical and mental strength have given me the belief to push beyond my comfort zone, whether that's taking on longer distances, ultramarathons or completing the LiRF qualification and becoming a Run Leader."
A huge congratulations also to the Blackpool Freedom Runners crew who trained together, supported each other throughout the journey and took on this incredible challenge as a team.
Carrie, enjoy celebrating this one. You should be incredibly proud of yourself. You've earned every step of that finish line. 🏃♀️💜
All the love, Ems ❤️

What an incredible achievement 💚
This week, Luke completed an astonishing 5 Marathons in 5 Days in support of The Big Food Project and Ron's Run.
Through soaring temperatures, tired legs and over 130 miles on the road, he just kept going.
What has been equally incredible is the support shown along the way. From people joining him on sections of the route, cheering from the sidelines, donating, sharing posts and helping spread the word, this challenge has truly brought the community together.
To top it all off, Blackpool Tower was lit up green on World Hunger Day in support of the challenge and the work of The Big Food Project.
The impact has been huge, with around 8,500 meals already donated to help people in our local community.
Luke, we're incredibly proud of you. The determination, commitment and heart you've shown over the last five days has been inspiring to watch.
If you'd still like to support this amazing cause, donations are still open. Just £5 can provide 10 meals for someone who needs them most
Well done Luke. What a week. What a challenge. What a difference you've made.
All the love, Ems, Mitch and the whole Hub Team ❤️💜

One of the biggest things we hear? 🤔
“I almost didn’t come because I was so nervous.”
Most people joining us are not gym confident.
They’re not super fit.
They’re not people who’ve trained for years.
They’re normal people wanting to feel stronger, healthier and feel more like themselves again.
That’s why our small group sessions are designed to feel welcoming, supportive and coached at every level.
If you’ve been thinking about starting but feel unsure, you’re very welcome to come and try a free taster session and see what we’re all about.
📩 Pop us a message with any questions and to book your taster.
All the love, Ems ❤️

Strength training isn’t just about changing how your body looks or lifting heavier weights. 💪🏻
As we move through our 40s and beyond, it plays a huge role in supporting muscle mass, bone health, balance, joint support and confidence in everyday life. It’s one of the best things we can do to stay strong, capable and independent long term.
Strength training really is for everyone, regardless of experience level. If you’re unsure where to start, we can help. Just drop us a 📩 and give one of our group sessions a try. 💜

Barbara lined up at the Chester 100 this weekend and covered 65 miles before stepping off the course.
Not the outcome she trained for, but that doesn’t take away from what went into getting to that start line or the effort out there.
Ultras are unpredictable. They ask a lot physically and mentally, and sometimes the strongest decision you can make is to stop.
The challenges of an ultra should never be underestimated. There’s a lot to take from this, and plenty more to come.
All the love, Ems and Mitch ❤️ 💜
