Week 4 - Members Mental Wealth Challenge is in the bag!

Our challenge is still going strong for so many members! We are helping them keep their minds focussed on their goals and the gym is buzzing!

We added special Secret Sunday sessions to this challenge, so that our Warriors could experience different styles of training and improve techniques. Our team have loved being able to bring their own expertise and experience to the fore. Yesterday’s session was the turn of Tom who shared his knowledge of hypertrophy training.

Our Warriors took part in a full body session with the pure focus of building muscle tissue. We reckon they are feeling it today!

Mental Wealth Week 3 round-up!

This week saw our Head Coach @ host a Squat Workshop for our Secret Sunday sessions. Danny shared with our members, his knowledge of all things squat!

He went through factors such as; warming up specifically for squats, bracing, un-racking, shoulder position, eccentrics, the bottom position, and bailing out.

The members tried out these things individually and then used their new and improved squat techniques to shift some weight!

These workshops and additional sessions have been very well received by our members and they have continued to keep grinding away. Our classes have been the busiest they have ever been in November!

🙌🏽 Fantastic work from Melu! 🙌🏽

We are really proud of the incredible effort Melu has put in to her time at Evo! She joined us after welcoming her baby boy last year and at a time where she was struggling to recognise herself. With low energy levels, a busy schedule and a little one regularly waking her in the night, Melu wanted to find herself again.

Coming into Evo, though she was nervous to begin with, Melu has given nothing less than 100% to each and every session she has attended. She’s worked hard to make incredible progress and is thrilled with her results! She’s motivated to continue making great progress with the support of the team 💪🏾

Week 2 of the Mental Wealth challenge at Evo completed!

We started this challenge to help our members keep trucking through colder months.

This weeks secret sunday session was a mobility workshop with Michelle, focusing on all things flexibility, reducing injuries, and enabling members to be capable of maximising their strength!

It was so popular that we actually livestreamed the session to our members in our private pages so members that couldn't attend in person could also get their gains.

George continued his calisthenics workshop, as well as our award winning classes still running throughout the week as per usual!

This is what happens with consistency!! Lets keep grinding!

How long have you been a member of Evo?
I joined in Feb 2023 after contemplating it for ages. It took a gap in my travel plans to create the window the 8 weeks. That was my ‘Sliding Doors’ moment that changed everything!

Why did you join Evo?
I had slipped into a downward spiral of bad eating, excessive alcohol, and lacklustre visits to an ‘ordinary’ gym, leading to weight gain & lack of energy/activity. The welcome encouragement of James and Tracy encouraged me to join as soon as I could & that gave me the motivation to change that I badly needed.

How have you found it?
I have loved every minute of my 9 months so far & frankly can’t imagine my life without Evo! I appreciate that sounds extreme, but it has ‘Transformed’ my life!
Evo has a clear strategy & it delivers on its objectives for the benefit of members. It aims to ‘push us beyond our limits’ & every class ensures we commit 100% effort rather than taking the easy ride. As important as the highly motivational range of classes is the sense of community which exists – there is a family style camaraderie between members & coaches, which ensures a sense of belonging & common/shared challenges which can help mental health, in addition to the fitness benefits. For me though, the nutrition advice has been fundamental. This has felt like a permanent switch to a healthy lifestyle, not a fad diet. I eat like a king! But it’s the right type of food. The new normal eating regime doesn’t feel like a compromise. I’m still as keen as ever to get up early 5 times a week, having to be disciplined to give my body rest days.

What benefits do you perceive from having become a member of Evo?
The 8-week challenge, has transformed me in many ways. I have moved from being severely obese with questionable blood pressure to being healthy, fit, classified as positively ‘normal’ in terms of BMI etc & I have lost 59lb. My dodgy knees have eased, enabled me to run a half marathon & re-engage with former interest of high-altitude trekking. I am a more positive, enthusiastic, happy member of a fun & challenging exercise community, giving me more of a purpose in life.

Great job Jeremy!

We are really proud of Jeremy! He joined us over summer for our 8 week Transformation Challenge to support his wife Jacky and they have both smashed it!

Jeremy wanted to be able to dust off some clothes languishing in the back of his wardrobe and to see some improvements on the cricket pitch too! He’s done incredibly well and the results speak for themselves!

Here’s what Jeremy says about his challenge;

I certainly have 👍🏻😁
My motivation was to support my wife in her transformation and if I got to look a little better in a white T - then happy days 😁
Well in 8 weeks, I got so much more.
We’ve both lost inches, lost pounds, drastically changed our diet, are now much fitter and stronger and best of all have enjoyed doing it together.
The carbs and sugars have gone and we’re drinking more water than we’ve ever done - and feeling much better for it 👍🏻
Everyone at the Evolution Project makes you very welcome, make it so easy and so enjoyable.
The classes are different every day, very challenging and because of that you feel like you are achieving something. You feel energised and continually motivated. It’s so easy to book on to the classes, which are well planned, well equipped, well run and actually really fun!
The coaches are very knowledgeable and super attentive to you as an individual, which is great.
I’m 57 and feeling fitter and stronger than I have for 20+ years 💪🏻
My posture has really improved. I’m rocking that old white T with a new found confidence and getting lots of positive comments😁
In fact I might need to go and buy a smaller size 🤣

"It's Cold, Dark, and the weather is glum"

Use the winter months as a period of growth & don't let excuses get in your way! Move towards your goals not away!

Inside the gym, there are lovely lights and a roof that 'magically' stops bad weather from getting to you!

There are a few things you could try over winter to keep motivated:

- Set up some goals for February,
- Sign onto a fitness event early next year to train towards,
- Start a challenge across friends and family,
- Plan your eating schedule to stop winter binge eating,
- Think of winter in a positive way. It's the headstart for your summer goals.

👏🏽 Well done Chelsea! 👏🏽

Just how incredible does Chelsea look after just 8 weeks?! Chelsea joined us in the summer wanting to improve her relationship with food and increase her endurance. She has an active job role but wanted to be able to feel stronger and have more energy.

Chelsea worked hard throughout her 8 week challenge and despite her initial uncertainty, she put her all into it! She dropped a staggering 19 inches and over 16lb!

Here’s what Chelsea says about us! 📣

‘When I first started, I felt quite overwhelmed and like I had failed before I had even started. But the energy and encouragement I received very quickly changed my mindset.
The workouts are amazing, and I can already feel the difference it’s made in my lifestyle, I feel so much stronger.

Supersets!

One of the best ways to increase the intensity and volume of your training!

Here at Evo, we use supersets a lot to give our members the greatest workouts for their goals!

Definitely read through and implement some of these into your training!

Key point is to remember the importance of rest between sets, if you are going heavy on both lifts then your CNS (Central Nervous System) is working overtime, so rest after both movements should be strictly no less than 1 minute 30!

Lisa joined us just before summer wanting to feel better in her clothes and have some accountability with her nutrition. Lisa has been an amazing member of our community and during her 8 weeks made some incredible changes!

She dropped over 15lb and 11 inches!

Here’s what Lisa says about her experience at Evo;

“I signed up for the transformation after seeing the inspirational results when my sister took part…and I wasn’t disappointed.

Having previously joined a large gym chain I was caught in the trap of struggling to self-motivate for classes & training in an open gym full of intimidation at every glance.

From my 1st class at Evo, however, every coach and fellow member has been so encouraging and motivating. The weekly small group sessions were perfect for ensuring we were all on the right track and despite us all wanting varying results it really bonded us as a team, so much so I’ll really miss those sessions!

I now feel fitter, slimmer, healthier & ready to continue my Evo journey!"

🎉Congratulations Sangeeta! 🎉

Sangeeta’s words about her time during her 8 week challenge, speak for themselves!

‘I decided to start the challenge because I had previously been part of a home workout club through lockdown. Whilst I enjoyed that and started to see benefits, I was desperate to get back to exercising in the ‘physical’ world and work out with other people.

Since joining Evo and having completed the challenge, I have been astounded by my results. The support from all the coaches, your PT in the semi PT sessions right through to making sure you feel comfortable and part of a community as soon as you walk through the door has been incredible.

The steps taken are ones we may already be familiar with, but when done properly, have a huge impact! Trust in the process…it absolutely works. Not just for me but for countless others 😊’

Sangeeta dropped 10 inches during the 8 weeks, by adjusting her nutrition and fitness regime. She’s been an absolute legend in classes and her smile lights up the room when she enters!

Well done Dan!

So proud of Dan! Dan recently completed his 8 week Transformation Challenge and achieved incredible results!

Dan joined us following a recommendation from fellow Warrior Steph. He wanted to drop some excess weight he gained after recently becoming a Father. He’s been such fun to train and we can’t wait to see him continue making great progress.

Here’s what Dan said about his time with us after dropping over 14lb, ‘I was brought to Evo by my sister and brother in law as my weight had started to rise and I had lost all motivation at my then gym. My first trial session I was introduced to all the coaches and a very happy Andrea.

After my first session I knew this was the place that could help me achieve my goals.

I signed up to the 8 week challenge with one thing in mind...to give it my all.
From day one of the challenge their was always someone to give me support and always keep me on track either on the Facebook group or the WhatsApp chat.
My PT George was always their to push me during classes even when I thought I was done.

The weight loss I have achieved in 8 weeks is just the start and I am now looking forward to what's next.

I would recommend Evo to everyone, the classes are amazing the coaches are super friendly.
I have not only started on a healthier journey I have also made some good friends on the way’.
