I talk about NEAT with my clients a LOT!

What I will tell you now - one quick walk just isn’t cutting it.

Especially when you want to be eating 1,700 calories, lose body fat, and look in shape preferably yesterday.

Th walk is good of course but it doesn’t counteract 10 hours of sitting!

So instead of trying to add another long walk which we both know you don’t have the time for is look at your routine and create more opportunities for movement throughout the entire day.

The women who get the best results aren’t doing more workouts or longer walks, their daily overall movement is simply a lot more!

More walking, standing, doing things, moving, prepping - Less sitting.

I’ve trained dozens of post c-section mums now.

And I’ve had a c-section myself, yep and the shelf…

So let me tell you:

That lower tummy overhang is NOT automatically some stubborn pocket of body fat you newly developed!

If it was purely body fat, every lean woman with a c-section would have a flat lower stomach… and that’s simply not reality.

Research and pelvic health specialists now recognise that a c-section shelf is often a combination of:

→ scar tissue adhesions
→ tissue tethering around the incision
→ abdominal wall changes
→ muscle separation (diastasis)
→ skin and connective tissue changes from pregnancy
→ AND body fat of course

I’ve seen women lose 20lbs+ and still have a small shelf.

I still have a small shelf with a very abrupt stop above the scar!

Now that doesn’t mean you can’t do anything about it.

I’ve seen my clients massively improve it through:

✔️ fat loss
✔️ strength training
✔️ core rehab
✔️ dietary changes
✔️ improving overall abdominal function

After childbirth no matter how long ago it was the goal should always still be to recover and feel strong again.

Your body carried a baby for 9 months and then underwent major abdominal surgery.

Maybe it’s time we stopped looking at every post-baby body change and immediately assuming it’s because we got lazy or fat!

Respectfully… shut up.

Yes, we might all have the same 24 hours
but we damn well know they look nothing alike.

I was trying to get some work done before our flight and asked aaron to get some B-roll and being the Go - to parent she still comes to me for her shoe lace 🤣

After taking her to the bathroom, making sure she had breakfast and having her dad right there she still comes to me!

And I wouldn’t it any other way tbh!

This is real life.

And this is exactly why my program exists.

I don’t coach women to chase “perfect days”.
I coach them to make progress inside the chaos.

Inside Become YOU, we build systems that hold up when life is loud:
• short, effective workouts
• simple, repeatable meals
• structure that bends

It’s about doing what actually works long enough to get results.

If you’re done trying to fit into routines that were never built for you and want something realistic follow along

I’m not going to tell you that your weekend calories count too.

I’m also not going to tell you that the calories you eat on the weekend can completely wipe out the deficit you created during the week.

And I’m definitely not going to tell you that your body needs enough time in a calorie deficit to actually start relying on stored body fat for energy.

You’ve heard all of that before.

What I am going to tell you is this:

If you don’t change your relationship with food, weekends, and what “enjoying life” means to you, you’ll be stuck in the exact same cycle next year.

And the year after that.

The problem isn’t that you don’t know what to do or that it doesn’t ’work for you’.

The problem is that you’ve built an identity around being “good” during the week and “treating yourself” at the weekend.

A huge part of my coaching is helping women build a new identity.

One that values health and fitness and doesn’t need to overeat every weekend to enjoy life.

Only when your identity changes, your habits stop feeling like something you’re forcing yourself to do.

They become part of who you are.

If you’re done with the Monday-to-Friday diet and weekend blowout cycle, comment SUMMER and let’s build the version of you that doesn’t need to keep starting over.🚀

Staying at the beach til 9pm.

Eating fresh fish everyday.

Sunshine everyday!

Melody has Spanish lessons for a reason so when I decide to move here - she’s coming prepared!

Well at least she can say dog and pineapple in Spanish 😅

I don’t know, but somewhere along the way I think we kinda got it all wrong…

We’ve somehow convinced ourselves that the way to enjoy life is more takeaways, more alcohol, more treats, more of everything.

And don’t get me wrong, I enjoy all of those things too.

But the older I get, the more I realise that the things that actually make me happy are completely different.

The more I choose the water over the drink, the walk over sitting around, the nutritious meal over the quick snack, the better I genuinely feel.

And I see it in my girls too.

The women getting the best results are the ones making the supposedly short term ‘sacrifices’ but are actually wining!

They’re happier.

Turns out looking after yourself doesn’t stop you enjoying life.

It actually helps you enjoy more of it.
