Dawn of Chivalry is a late 13th century (Edward I) reenactment group focusing on the display of combat skills in the context of knight tournaments. Our primary goals are to educate the public on the military equipment of the period and to entertain visitors the same way tournaments would have done in 1285. Training tomorrow returns to Hutton Henry, conveniently situated within easy commute from Hartlepool, Peterlee, Sunderland and Durham and good transport links via the A19. Close to local amenities such as The Plough, Bow Cottage’s outdoor netty, and Sir Walter’s mace, the tranquil and deceptively spacious site sits at the heart of this charming rural village and its thriving community of violent medieval warriors. It’s uniquely accessible and could become a thriving hub of community-led activities and events… but it seems Durham County Council has other offers of the table ☹️
