Membership Renewals 2026
It’s that time of year again. SDTC memberships are now up for renewal on the website.
If you renew in April, membership will remain at £44 (same as 2025).
From 1st May, membership will increase slightly to £46. This reflects the increase in Mountaineering Scotland membership fees, which form part of your SDTC membership (subject to approval at the AGM later this month).

📢 A couple of important notes📢
We’ve never increased SDTC membership fees since launching in 2021 other than to match changes in Mountaineering Scotland costs.
💥 This year’s small increase also brings added value, including access to personal accident insurance through Mountaineering Scotland.
⛏️Toolbox access & sessions
Free equipment hire in The Toolbox will remain for now, but is likely to change later this year as GCC continue developing the facility and bring in their own range of hire equipment.
We’re proud to keep building this club as something that’s accessible, supportive, and genuinely community-led.

Dry tooling intro with Edinburgh University Mountaineering Club last night 🔥
The club helped support the session with organisation, as well as providing extra kit and holds to make it happen.
Awesome turnout and great to see so many people Psyched to get their first taste of tooling! 🤘

There was so much to dissect this week, conditions and weather wise so a deeper delve into weather and conditions has returned! There's also some (very optimistic) focus on what the rest of the season might hold!
