We’re delighted to share that Ben Simms will be returning as 2nd XV Coordinator for the upcoming season! 🔵⚪️

The club are also excited to share that Dave French will be captaining the 2nd XV for 26/27, leading the lads in his 10th season with the club. 🔵⚪️

“As a coaching group, we not only want to develop the players at the club but we want to make the Second team competitive. Playing regular fixtures against strong opposition sides in turn will only make the younger lads better and support the future of the club. I’m confident there are players in the team that will start giving us selection headaches should they push themselves.

Ben and Frenchy provide all the tools to support this. Their enthusiasm will be key to rally the players around them and support the plan Jow, Ben and I have put together. I think they are a pair that can really push on with the Second team this year and help us identify vital, future talent for the club.” - Josh MacDonald

Happy to announce that Luke Suttcliffe, one of two Vandals Vice-Captains for 25/26, has committed to another season at the club. Here’s what the coaching team had to say:

“Where to start with this one… Big character both on the field and in the clubhouse; he is clearly a favourite amongst the club and with his teammates. Sutty is such an exciting player to watch on his day. His unpredictability is his best aspect and with ball in hand he is easily one of the best attacking players at the club, scoring some great tries since I’ve been at the club. Another big year for this one ahead.” - Josh MacDonald

“A live wire on and off the pitch, Sutty knows how it feels to win leagues and is experienced in the dark arts of cheeky scrum halvery.” - Paul Jowett

Exciting news as Tom Fowler, Player’s Player of the Season for 2025/26, has re-signed for our upcoming Yorkshire Counties 2 campaign. Here’s what the coaches had to say:

“Mr Reliable, you know what you’re getting with Tom week in week out and it’s reflected in the fact his teammates voted for him as last seasons Players player. Rightly so. The coaching team extend a welcome to all players and their families to join us for some free beers, a free BBQ and a chance for some Q&A with the coaches.

We’ll give a brief presentation and talk about our hopes, ambitions, direction we want to take the squad in, give an over view of our game plan and explain how we will train to implement that game plan.

This will also be the opportunity to try on and size up your stash for the 26/27 campaign, so make sure you don’t miss out. 🔵⚪️

🏉CARRINGTON RE-SIGNS!🏉

We’re delighted to confirm that last season’s First XV Player of the Season, Aaron Carrington, has re-signed for the 2026/27 season. Here’s what the coaching team had to say:

“Player of the year last year, I’m excited to work with him and I’m confident Ron will continue his form into the upcoming season. A key to this year will be developing the squad and players as individuals. Knowing the type of person he is, I’m sure he will be a key figure in guiding the players around him through the season and making sure the standards are met. (We have agreed he’s not allowed in charge of the music before a game though!)” - Josh MacDonald

We’re delighted to announce Ben Iveson will be joining the 1st XV coaching staff for the upcoming Yorkshire Counties 2 campaign! 🔵⚪️

🏉 PLAYOFF RUGBY AT THE VANDALS 🏉

The club will be showing the Premiership Rugby semi-final this Friday 12th June, between Northampton Saints and Leicester Tigers.

It is with great sadness that we share the news that our former player & president Alan Ingham passed away peacefully on Saturday 30th May.
Affectionately known to many as “Inky” his involvement with the Halifax Vandals spanned several decades, and he will be fondly remembered by all at the club. Alan was simply the kindest of men, a true gentleman & he will be sadly missed.
Our thoughts are with Hazel, Andrew, Joanne & all the family at this sad time.

Funeral to be held at Warley St John’s Church on the 3rd of July at 11:00. Refreshments after at the Maypole Inn Warley.
