🏉PRESEASON UPDATE🏉

Halifax Vandals vs Oldham RUFC has been postponed to Saturday 12th of September, due to the start of the season being delayed. The game will still be played at home, we hope to see as many people up there as possible.

We’ll be training on Friday 21st of August instead, and will be having a social up at the club afterwards if anyone wants to join us for a drink and watch the first Kangaroo Court of the season🍻

The season has been delayed to the 26th of September, fixtures will be posted once we have confirmation of dates. 🔵⚪️

🏉NEW SIGNING🏉

The club are delighted to announce the signing of Joe Greenwood for the 26/27 season. Joe is back with the club and looking forward to the upcoming season with the lads. Here’s what the coaches had to say:

“The coaching staff, players and club are thrilled to have Joe back. A dangerous ball carrier who I think will bring a lot of class and experience to the team. Jow, Ben and I are really looking forward to seeing what he does this season and hopefully what we have already seen in training will reflect on the pitch when the games arrive. “Joe is another player I have played with since we could pick up a ball. His pedigree always ensured he’d be a player you’d much rather be with, than against and we are buzzing he has decided to sign up for a season at Vandals. His versatility gives us some great options to deploy him across the field and wherever we use him, it adds real strength. 🏉BOTTOMLEY RE-SIGNS🏉

The club are delighted to announce that Gazz Bottomley has re-committed for the upcoming Yorkshire Counties 2 season. Here’s what the coaches had to say:

“Gazz is another who stepped up to the mark last season when it mattered most for the club. A strong ball carrier with a ‘can-do’ attitude to help his team mates and club out. He had some top stand out performances last year, namely against Osset and Bradford. Another valuable member of the club who is respected by both the First and Second team players, he’s a great player to have on board.” - Josh MacDonald

“I’m thrilled Gazz has re-signed for this season. He carries hard and is a real handful on the park, often breaking through tackles and making yards, although most of those yards are sideways. Looking forward to seeing more aggressive hard running this season.” - Paul Jowett 🔵⚪️

We’re running a Fantasy Premier League this season up at the club, to help raise a bit of money and have a some friendly competition throughout the season.

The cost to join is £20 each, with 50% going to the club and 50% to the winners. The deadline to join is August 22nd so get signed up now! 🔵⚪️

🏉DYSON RE-SIGNS🏉

Halifax Vandals are excited to announce that Marcus Dyson has re-signed with the club for the upcoming season. Marcus is excited to work with the new coaching staff, and is looking to continue his development for the 26/27 season. Here’s what the coaches had to say:

“Marcus has really impressed me with his attitude towards pre season. He has not stood back and has really embraced the challenge. I know he is a natural ball carrier, but we are already seeing him improve in the finer details of his game. We are excited to see what he can bring this year and I hope he goes on to push for a shirt.” - Josh MacDonald 🔵⚪️

The club are delighted to announce the signing of Kyle Lockwood for the upcoming season! Here’s what the coaches had to say:

“A strong, physical lad who will be keen to push this year, Kyle has shown he has the personal qualities we want at the club and it hasn’t gone unnoticed. He is a young man who is embracing the challenge in open age rugby. I’m excited to see how Kyle develops as he has age on his side which is exactly what the club needs for the future. We are excited to announce Halifax Vandals will be sponsoring a match at Stones Cricket Club on the 15th of August! Stones are a great club, and this is a good chance for a preseason get together to have a few beers and watch some cricket. 🏏

The match starts at 1pm, and tickets cost £10 per person, which includes a free pint and food. 🍻
