🏉 MEN'S PRE-SEASON FIXTURE 🏉

Unfortunately, following the RFU’s decision to delay the official start to the season by 2 weeks, this Saturday's pre-season fixture against West Hartlepool has been postponed until Saturday 12th September.

DOUBLE BRODS DEBUTS
🇳🇿 For Fyn and Zach in New Zealand

Well done to former Brods lads Fyn Hobson and Zach Parkin who turned out for South Canterbury on Sunday in the Heartlands Championship - New Zealand’s top level non-professional provincial rugby competition - beating East Coast 44-20.

The flying wing, centre or full back Fyn Hobson came through our junior section and broke in to our first team back in 2023 with immediate impact. Before the move to New Zealand he also stepped up to impress at Hull and Otley.

Zach Parkin is the son of New Zealander Scott, who came over to play for the Brods in 2000. 17 years later Scott returned home with wife Michelle, and sons Zach and Joe.

From his early days at the Brods Zach brought a physical style of rugby and its brilliant to hear how he’s progressed into an outstanding senior prop with notable achievements along the way - such as being selected for the Junior Crusaders, making the Canterbury B squad in 2025 and becoming captain of Lincoln University’s Premier side.

Now both Fyn and Zach are playing representative rugby together on the other side of the world.

And what are the chances of the two Brods lads making their representative debuts on the same day??

AND did they even know they both started out at the Brods???

THE HAT ON THE SIDELINES
🛡️ The club connection only unraveled when Fyn spotted one of the spectators in a Brods hat.

Zach’s granddad Geoff Clayton, known to many here at the Brods, emigrated to New Zealand back in 2024.

It’s great to hear Geoff still wears his Brods hat to the rugby!

Spotting the badge, Fyn approached Geoff at the match and all was revealed.

CONGRATULATIONS FELLAS
👊 A massive well done to both Fyn and Zach for turning out for the mighty green and blacks.

We look forward to seeing how they continue to progress on their rugby journeys!

The annual clash where cricket meets rugby returns tonight as Shelf Northowram Hedge Top CC take on Old Brodleians RUFC.

Leading the side is captain James Hodkinson, alongside a squad packed with familiar faces from across the club.

What we're looking for:

-Fully qualified, newly graduated or experienced therapist.
-Available for all home and away games during the season (September to May)
-Available for midweek (Tues & Thurs) training.

What we can offer you:

From 13th–16th August, leave the car with us and jump on a free shuttle straight to Shibden Park.
