Did you know...? 🤯

You may have seen our recent post about the 50th annivesary of the first time Everest was summited “the hard way”. However, 2025 also marks 50 years since another important milestone for the tallest mountain in the world...

Junko Tabei became the first woman to summit Everest on 16th May 1975. This acheivement came just 12 days after her all-female team were buried in their camp by an avalanche at 6300 metres.

Luckily, there were no casualties and she later went on to become the first woman to complete the Seven Summits - this means climbing the highest mountain on each continent.
