What a fun Friday! Last night we hosted our first player v partner match, and it did not disappoint! Our scratch team from all 3 squads, invited their boyfriends, husbands and partners to step on court and rise to the challenge!
After only a brief training session together on Tuesday, safe to say the lads definitely gave their better halves a run for their money, and were goal for goal until the last quarter! (Would seem they ARE in fact paying attention when they come to watch our matches! π
) Well done everyone, a great evening and highly entertaining too!
Thank you so much to both Lowenna and Jenny for umpiring, and Steph & Zoe on the scoring table, plus Tuva and Odin for being the best sweet monitors βοΈ
Who is ready for round 2!?

π₯Ήπ«Ά soppy post alert!
Last night Hornets attended the Cornwall Netball awards evening in St Stephen, and were officially crowned the Runners Up of Division 5, which means they have, (at long last!) been promoted into Division 4.
For those that have been here a while, youβll know that itβs been a long time coming and so thoroughly well deserved. We couldnβt be prouder of the continued determination and grit these ladies have shown, despite many knock backs, which has ultimately resulted in the strongest Hornets squad weβve known π«Ά
Congratulations ladies! We are all so happy for you, and cannot wait to support and cheer from the sidelines in the next seasons Div 4 chapter! πππ€

Finally a dry, (but windy, for us shooters!) evening for the Summer League in Redruth last night, as we played our first match against the lovely Bayside.
Both Jodie and Zoe were on fire in the shooting circle, with great movement and connection with centre court. Defence also worked hard to turn the ball over and regain possession too. A lovely indeed and great result! Well done ladies.
Thank you to Kirsty for umpiring π€π
Letβs hope for another dry week next week! π€π»

A very belated (apologies π¬) congratulations to our lovely Beth for passing her Lvl1 Coaching Certificate, with flying colours, as we expected!
Many of you will recognise Beth as for many years sheβs been Hornets defensive anchor, however was sadly injured just 4 games into the season and is awaiting surgery still π
We are delighted to instead welcome her to our ever growing coaching team, and so grateful for her extensive knowledge and teaching experience she brings to the Club.

And thatβs a wrap! The last match of the season for Helston tonight as our social Bees welcomed Crofty to the court for their final game. Well done Bees for another well deserved win and ending the season on a high! Such a busy year, playing a colossal 20 games in the social league against some tough & experienced teams. Thank you Crofty for a lovely final game, always a pleasure π€π
Congratulations to Marina (GD) for OPOM βοΈ You deserve a holiday π
