Here's the problem nobody's telling you: jumping repeatedly, under fatigue, with poor landing mechanics, is one of the fastest ways to get injured. Knees, ankles, lower back, we see it constantly.

It's not that jump training is inherently bad. It's that most of it is taught with zero regard for whether you can actually control the landing, brace properly, or handle that load safely in the first place.

We'd rather build you a foundation of real strength first, one that protects your joints, not one that gambles with them for the sake of a sweatier workout.

Strong first. Explosive later, if it's even something you need.

Still can’t stick to your exercise plan?

It’s probably not you… here’s why 👉

1. Your gym doesn’t feel welcoming.

Walking into a crowded, noisy gym where the personal trainers doesn’t even know your name is enough to put anyone off.

You deserve to feel supported from day one. 👉

2. There isn’t a supportive community.

No matter who’s training around you whether that’s your partner, inner circles or complete strangers.
Your environment matters.

If nobody’s there to spur you in or hold you accountable, it’s twice as hard to stay consistent.👉

3. You might not be seeing results.

This one’s super tough.

The mirror says one thing but the scales are saying another, and unless you’re really tracking your lifts it’s hard to see the improvements. 👉

4. You don’t know what you’re doing in the gym.

And why would you?

It’s not your job.

And most online fitness personalities aren’t helping.

Endless conflicting advice, no real guidance and zero structure.👉

5. You don’t believe in yourself.

Change is hard. That’s a fact.
But nothing good comes from the easy path.

Sometimes you just have to lock in and knuckle down for 3 months not accepting ANY excuses.

A missed workout here and there is fine, but don’t get pulled away from YOUR goals, put your future self first.

At our gym, we’re not a big commercial box where your membership is just a number.

We offer expert coaching, a genuinely supportive community and a space where you instantly feel better after showing up.

If you’re needing that extra bit of supportive and accountability then send us a DM.

So what's your dumb core fitness belief?

Photos from Encore Fitness's post 21/07/2026

We came across some gym statistics this week… Some are backed by research. Some are backed by watching people in the gym. You decide. 👀

📊 22% of new gym members are still training consistently after a year.

🤝 Training with a friend makes you more likely to keep showing up.

🎧 The gym playlist is responsible for approximately 73% of all personal bests.*

🪞 94% of people accidentally make eye contact in the mirror… then spend the next 10 minutes avoiding each other.*

😅 87% of people add an extra rep when someone walks past.*

💧 You only realise how thirsty you are after you’ve left your water bottle on the other side of the gym.*

Shoutout to everyone at Encore who keeps showing up, supporting each other and making the gym a great place to be.

Results may have been obtained through highly advanced gym-floor research. 😅

Getting older isn't a reason to train less. It's the reason to train smarter and start now.

Strength, bone density and mobility aren't things you lose.
They're things you stop maintaining. Let's fix that.

Not every exercise is right for every body.

What builds strength for one person might aggravate an old injury in another. What challenges your recovery capacity might barely touch someone else's. Age, history, goals, how you move, how you recover it all matters.

That's why we don't hand out generic programs here. Every exercise we choose for you is chosen for you.

That's coaching. Not a class you follow along to.

We’re seven months into the year. More than halfway.

Most gyms will tell you that that’s a reason to panic buy a membership or that you’re already too late to start. We won’t.

At this stage of life training isn’t about chasing a summer body. It’s about staying strong, mobile and protecting the years ahead of you.

The ability to keep up with your kids, stay active and have control over your life. That takes tailored coaching, not a generic plan.

We know exactly where our members stand seven months in because we’re coaching them individually not just counting visits.

If you’re not where you want to be, it’s not too late. It just needs a different approach.

How many times a week should you exercise? 🤔

The answer might be less than you think.

A lot of people believe they need to train 5 or 6 times a week to get results. In reality, the best workout plan is the one that fits your life and that you can stick to consistently.

Work, family, holidays, busy weeks... life happens.

That's why we focus on finding a routine that works for you, rather than trying to force you into a plan that isn't realistic.

In this video, Alex (Encore's Founder) and Tanya discuss how many times you should train and why consistency is often more important than doing more.
