Thinking about martial arts? Training is free on Mondays.

At Dharma Dojo in Wimbledon Village, we practice traditional Japanese Ninjutsu in a calm, welcoming environment - without ego, tension, or competition.

Our training follows the principle of Ten-Chi-Jin: the spiritual, the martial, and the healing arts. It is a path for those seeking more, to become at peace, safe, and skilful under the pressures of modern life.

In line with our tradition, this training is offered as a gift to the community rather than for profit. Every voluntary donation goes directly to charity, and your practice becomes a force for the greater good.

Astronomers note that the aurora dances in unpredictable arcs, responding to invisible magnetic forces above the Earth. This reveals how unseen forces of nature govern motion in ways both powerful and unseen. In Budō, the unseen governs everything.

We have founded our free martial arts class to support the community.

Not to build something commercial. Because we believe this kind of training — real traditional Bujinkan, the way it was originally meant — should be available to anyone.

We have a small, genuinely good group of people. Grounded, curious, and welcoming.

If you've ever been drawn to martial arts with more depth to it - Monday evenings might be worth trying.

No experience needed. Just turn up.

Most martial arts focus on one thing: how to fight.

The original Bujinkan tradition is built on three.

Ten — heaven. The development of the spirit.
Chi — earth. Practical survival in real situations.
Jin — human. The study of healing.

The idea is that a complete martial artist doesn't just know how to protect themselves — they know how to look after others, and they've done the work on who they are, and beyond.

"There are three types of martial artists: those who want to learn to fight, those who want to learn techniques, and those who want to develop a pure heart."

— Masaaki Hatsumi, founder of Bujinkan

The third kind is what we train for.

Not a gym. Not a competition. Not about competition, ranks, or proving anything.

No fitness threshold. No aggression. No tension.

The original Bujinkan tradition was about three things: developing the spirit, learning real self-defence, and understanding how to care for others' well-being.

Hatsumi Sensei, the founder of the Bujinkan used to teach for free.

Not as a business model. As a principle. Training given from the heart.

We believe in that. Our classes have always been free, and always will be. Donations are welcome and go to charity.
