We are a welcoming and a friendly club who accepts all regardless of age, gender or ability! Founded in 1907 Luton Town Bowling Club is the third oldest Flat Green Bowling Club in Bedfordshire, having celebrated its Centenary in 2007, yet it remains forward thinking and imaginative. We were one of the first clubs in Bedfordshire to adopt coloured shirts as an alternative to the more traditional white… and we were also the first outdoor bowling club in the county to set up a Web Site. We will be very pleased to hear from potential new members, male or female of any age or ability. We are a friendly club with ambition, but don't take our word for it, join and find out for yourself.

🌱 Wondering what’s been going on at Luton Town Bowls Club lately?

With the outdoor bowling season now finished, we’ve been busy getting our green ready for winter.

After a really hot and dry summer, the green had taken a bit of a battering, so it was time for some serious TLC! We’ve cut, aerated (or spiked, if you prefer 😉), scarified, spiked and scarified again… then spread 6 tonnes of topsoil and plenty of grass seed across the green, particularly on the areas that suffered most.

Right now, we’ll admit, it probably looks worse than it did a few weeks ago! 😂 But give it a few weeks and we’re hoping to see a big improvement. Keep an eye on it and let us know what you think! 🌱

For anyone who doesn’t know us, we’re right in the middle of Ashcroft Recreation Ground. We’re a friendly but competitive club, playing both socially and competitively — and all ages and abilities are welcome.

Interested in giving bowls a go next season? Get in touch!

We’re also keen to get more involved with our local community over the winter and into the new year. If your community group fancies having a go at bowls, or you think we could work together in some way, we’d love to hear from you.

Congrats to Bobby Bennett for winning 🥇 his first club singles 🏆 final beating Luke Munt 🥈 20-9. Huge shout out to Luke for reaching not only the club singles final but also pushing a top bowler close in the semi final of the Tomkins cup. A season to be proud of. 👍

Thank you Harpenden Bowling Club for hosting us in what was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Credit to you for your superb green given the summer we’ve had. We wont mention the result 🤫😊 but look forward to welcoming you to Luton next season.

As a side finishing second would say, it’s the taking part that counts 👀…….(apparently the committee are investigating Ray Cottrell’s part in our defeat 👀 👀 😂). A great win, possibly unexpected, in the Pell Shield last night against Maulden. Our team away kept things relatively tight across the 2 rinks losing by 15, but the boys at home did the business winning by 25+ shots 🥇 🏆. Biggleswade next up in our title defence 💪
