The first half started very sluggishly for the Doggy Boys. We weren’t closing down quickly enough, which saw us go 2 goals down after a long-range strike and a deflected goal.

With a bit of composure and plenty of fight, the boys managed to get a grip of the game. A quick attack and dangerous cross saw Lennis get a shot away, with Jayden following up brilliantly to smash home the rebound.

The game had shifted in our favour, and a quick counter-attack saw Jayden break forward with the ball before slotting Oli through, who calmly finished to bring us level.

Unfortunately, we then sat back and invited the pressure once again, allowing Leven to strike from outside the box and take the lead into half-time.

💪 SECOND HALF — A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TEAM!

After a great team talk at half-time, the boys came flying out of the blocks with hunger in their bellies.

A few positional changes helped us get control of the game, and we soon found ourselves level again. Elliott produced a fantastic solo run before finishing brilliantly to level us up.

From there, we were the better side and really started to take control.

Jayden did brilliantly to beat a couple of players before delivering a fantastic cross into the box, where Lennis was waiting to finish it in the back of the net.

The next goal was a brilliant piece of football between Jayden and Lennis down the left-hand side. A couple of quick one-twos completely opened up the defence, with Jayden keeping his composure to slot the ball into the bottom corner.

And just before the final whistle, Jayden produced another moment of magic. Picking up the ball, he went on a brilliant solo run, beat a couple of players and absolutely smashed the ball into the back of the net to put the icing on the cake!

What a comeback from the boys!

After a difficult first half, the lads showed unbelievable character, fight, determination and togetherness to turn the game around and finish in complete control.

That makes it 4 wins from 4 games to start the season, and the Doggy Boys are absolutely flying!

🏆 MAN OF THE MATCH — LOUIE 🏆

One of those games where a goalkeeper has to be absolutely on it from the first whistle to the last — and Louie was exactly that today! 🧤🔥

He faced shot after shot against a top-quality Richmondshire side, yet somehow came away with a clean sheet. That speaks for itself!

His direction was outstanding, constantly organising those in front of him and commanding his area with confidence. Along the way, he pulled off some unreal saves, keeping the ball out when Richmondshire looked certain to score.

And while Louie deserves huge credit, that clean sheet was also down to the massive effort from the defenders in front of him, who battled relentlessly alongside him.

A brilliant team defensive performance, capped off by an outstanding individual display from Louie.

🧤❤️🖤 A well-earned clean sheet and a thoroughly deserved Man of the Match!

🏆 MAN OF THE MATCH — KIAN 🏆

What an outstanding performance from Kian today! 🔥

His positioning and work rate were the best we’ve seen from him, putting in challenge after challenge and never giving Richmondshire an easy moment.

Under relentless pressure, Kian stayed calm and composed, making some brilliant decisions with his passing and helping to relieve the team from the non-stop pressure throughout the game.

He battled for every ball, worked tirelessly for the team and showed incredible maturity in a very difficult game.

A massive performance from Kian and a thoroughly deserved Man of the Match! 🔴⚫️

🔴⚫ DOGGY BOYS — A BATTLE FROM START TO FINISH! ⚫🔴

Today our lads went up against Richmondshire Pro Players Reds, and what turned out to be a very, very tough game against a top side who made the Doggy Boys work their socks off for absolutely everything.

But the lads never stopped running, never stopped battling and never gave up for the full 50 minutes. 💪🔥

⚽ 20 minutes in, Jayden picked up the ball, cut inside and unleashed an absolute PEARLER, curling it straight into the top bins! 🚀🎯

Jayden — take a bow! 👏

From that moment onwards, it was backs against the wall. Richmondshire threw everything at us, but the Doggy Boys stood strong and defended with everything they had.

Young Ollie Williams produced an UNREAL overhead-kick clearance off the line, keeping Richmondshire from finding the equaliser. What a moment! 👏🔥

And then, late on, came another huge moment. A 20-yard screamer looked destined for the net, but our keeper produced a brilliant diving save, tipping it onto the bar and keeping the Doggy Boys in front! 🧤

The final whistle eventually came, bringing an end to an absolute battle.

Every single lad gave everything today. They ran, fought, defended, attacked and battled for every ball against a top-quality opposition.

A hard-worked result for the Doggy Boys and one the lads can be incredibly proud of.
