Today we brought the curtain down on our 2026 junior season with our final event of the year – a 3-Man Team Scramble!

It was great to finish the season with something a little different. The scramble format gave the juniors the chance to play together as a team, enjoy their golf and, most importantly, have some fun out on the course.

🏆 Today’s winning team each received a new golf hat and we also added a Closest to the Hole competition to today’s event, giving everyone something extra to play for! The prizes were very kindly provided by Linked By Golf Podcast – a huge thank you to them for supporting our juniors! 👏

As this was our final junior event of the season, it also feels like the perfect opportunity to say a massive thank you to everyone who has helped make this year such a success.

In particular, we wanted to thank Sam Cairns for supporting and sponsoring our competitions every week, we really do appreciate it. 👏🏻

To all of our juniors who have played throughout the season – whether in medals, competitions, or just coming along and getting involved – you’ve been a credit to the club.

It’s been brilliant watching the golf improve, but even better seeing the friendships, confidence and camaraderie develop along the way.

We’ve had a brilliant season, made some great memories and hopefully given the juniors plenty to look forward to when we get going again next year.

Well done everyone – and thank you for a fantastic season! ⛳️🏌️‍♂️

🏌️‍♂️🔴🔵 WHAT A DAY FOR THE CPGC JUNIORS! 🔵🔴🏌️‍♂️

What a fantastic afternoon of junior matchplay at Colville Park today! 👏👏

Our boys absolutely did themselves proud, with some brilliant golf, incredibly tight matches and a fantastic spirit throughout the whole event.

The lead changed hands constantly, with matches going right down to the wire and neither team willing to give an inch. There was some excellent golf played by everyone, and the competitiveness on the course was matched by the great camaraderie and sportsmanship off it.

Most importantly, it was brilliant to see the boys encouraging each other, enjoying each other’s company and representing the club so well. Days like today are exactly what we’re trying to create within our junior section. 🙌

After a closely fought battle, Team Reds came out on top 5–3 against Team Blues. 🔴🏆

A huge well done to every single junior who took part today. You should all be incredibly proud of how you played and, more importantly, how you conducted yourselves.

A massive thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success ⛳️👏🏌️‍♂️

I’m sure everyone will have seen the rules controversy at yesterday’s Open Championship involving Bryson DeChambeau, where a 2 stroke penalty was assessed for inadvertently improving his lie, and we thought it would a be good opportunity to educate our junior golfers on this ruling.

There is a great video explainer in the R&A App (Which we encourage everyone to download) however this video also offers a great explanation of rule 8-1.

Morning all,

There are a number of Lanarkshire Golf events planned over the next month or so, this is a chance for our junior players to get more experience playing in bigger fields with players from across Lanarkshire and to play other courses from our area in a competitive environment.

The joining instructions for each event can be found in the main post!

Many thanks

Evening all,

We have just posted on the WhatsApp community about the LGA event at Wishaw GC on the 4th May.

We will share details of all LGA events where there isn’t a clash with our own events, and encourage our junior members with a handicap to take part.

It’s a great experience to play other courses and meet other junior golfers from around Lanarkshire.

Many thanks

All,

Given the weather forecast for Sunday, and to give as much notice as possible we are going to cancel the planned junior medal.

Winds of up to 50mph are forecasted so thought we would spare even our hardiest of Junior members having to play in those conditions!

We will try and reschedule this where we can though, perhaps even during the Easter holidays.

Just a reminder that we also now have a WhatsApp Community set up for the junior section, this will be used for important announcements and updates and you can join using this link:

You can also review the full season fixtures list on the website, there is a link on the Facebook home page that will take you straight there.

Keep an eye out for further updates in the coming days, and we will re-arrange the pre-season meeting ahead of the next fixture.

Many thanks
