Taekwondo is often a sport where many coaches go down the route of trying to ‘recreate’ sporting movements with weights and bands whether this be kicking with bands around their ankles or using weights to overload specific hip drills.
In my opinion this often heavily under prepares the athletes for the demands of the sport and the high load that is placed through key joints such as the proximal hamstring and ankle which these ‘specific’ movements will not develop.

Banded shoulder oscillations / perturbations are an unusual exercises that you don’t see all that often.

Rest and reset ✅
Normally everything we do tends to be last minute as a family because I am forever trying to balance our weekends around whenever I have guys fighting and the shows I need to be at to support them.
However this was a weekend we just had to make sure we boxed off early this year and booked way in advance.
Last year little man decided to join us and be born on birthday so this year for their joint birthday we made sure we planned something way in advance.
Yes it meant I missed a few guys fights which I was gutted about but you can’t replace this time spent as a family as Myles will only turn 1 once.
Centre Parcs was an unbelievable shout as the whole gang had a great time and the woman who does the face painting met her match this weekend as she had paint my daughters face every day 😂.
Back to it now with some big fights coming up in the next few months 🥊
