NEW ARTIST ALERT! πŸ‘€ 🎨
We are delighted to introduce our next artists, chosen through our Community Canvas initiative. Here are a few words from them:
Sight for Wight Art Group!
β€œI would like to introduce you to our little art group who meet weekly at Sight for Wight in Carisbrooke to enjoy a couple of hours painting, sketching, drawing or whatever craft we enjoy but more importantly we chat, drink tea, coffee and don’t forget the biscuits! The group has been meeting for many years and sadly some of our members have taken their paint brushes with them on their journey to the skies. None of us are spring chickens but we do have lots of fun and we hope you enjoy a selection of our artwork as much as we enjoy creating them.
Laura our longest member for over 20 years, has created some amazing paintings over her journey in acrylics and watercolour, being displayed at various places and still produces lovely cards for friends and family. Her knowledge is far reaching and we can always rely on her for an honest view of our artwork and advice when needed.
Sue R has been a member of the group for a number of years and produces some lovely artwork mainly in acrylic and watercolour especially of birds and animals, such patience and detail.
Margaret has found that she enjoys working in watercolour much more than acrylics, she’s had many requests (or should I say instructions) from her grandson for various paintings which can be either challenging, fun or both.
Hazel has been painting and creating for many years and her artwork, mainly acrylics, is colourful and fun and her Calligraphy on posters is amazing.
Sue H, I doodled in my school books but life happens and didn’t really get into art until 2019 while sitting with my 9-year-old granddaughter drawing a unicorn, hers was amazing and mine like a donkey, so I bought a Β£1 sketch pad, some pencils and rubber. I then tried water colour and progressed to acrylics which I love although I do tend to wear a lot when painting.
We do hope you enjoy our labour of love, some of our paintings are for sale and if you would like more information, please contact me via my email address. We also have a couple of spaces if anyone would like join our little group, any age, everyone welcome.”

Let's talk about periods. πŸ’›

Too many women spend years struggling with symptoms like severe pain, heavy bleeding and ongoing pelvic discomfort before getting answers.

We're delighted to welcome Dr Jodie Hughes to our Women's Fact-Share Social to help us better understand endometriosis and adenomyosis, share knowledge, and encourage important conversations about women's health.

Come for the talk, stay for a drink and a chat, and connect with others in a relaxed and supportive environment.
