One of the most valuable parts of lifeguard training?

Realistic rescue scenarios.

During training we run practical situations that may involve:

🌊 Multiple casualties
🌊 Communication under pressure
🌊 Casualty care and handover to emergency services
🌊 Dynamic risk assessment in changing conditions

Scenarios start simple and gradually become more complex as candidates build knowledge and confidence.

Every exercise is followed by group debriefs, peer feedback and instructor reflection, helping turn each scenario into real learning.

Next training block: 27th - 31st July

Thinking about doing a lifeguard or Surf Coach Safety & Rescue course, but not sure if you're ready?

These are the things we hear most often:

πŸ’ β€œAm I fit enough?”
πŸ’ β€œWhat if I can't make the swim times?”
πŸ’ β€œI've never used a rescue board before.”
πŸ’ β€œWhat if the surf looks massive?”

These courses are designed to develop your skills, not catch you out.

Yes, there are standards to meet, but we guide candidates through training step by step, building confidence and competence along the way.

Attitude, teamwork and willingness to learn matter just as much as raw ability.

Chat to our team today and we'll answer any questions you have.

βœ” Outdoor leadership

More importantly, it teaches the judgement and awareness needed to work safely in dynamic coastal environments.

If you're thinking about working on the coast this season, our training week from 27th - 31st July is a great place to start.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Great week, amazing instruction, magical location, good gang, lots learned."

There's no better feedback than hearing directly from the people who have trained with us.

Our courses are designed to be challenging, supportive and realistic. Candidates are expected to work hard, engage fully, and step outside their comfort zones, but that's where the biggest learning happens.

Whether you're looking to become a beach lifeguard, develop your water safety skills, or take the next step towards working as a surf coach or outdoor professional, our aim is to prepare you for real situations, not just the assessment.

πŸ“ Cornwall-based training

Thank you to Lawrence for the review and for all the effort he put into the course.
