Following confirmation that the one-hour parking grace period is here to stay, Newry BID has launched a city-wide campaign to make sure as many people as possible know about it and understand how it works.

Look out for our billboards, press ads and window graphics across the city. Our BID team will also be delivering information leaflets directly to businesses to help spread the word to staff and customers 😊

We actively lobbied for the introduction of the grace period on behalf of our businesses, so now we want to make sure people know about it and use it.

Iúr Cinn Fleadh is coming! 🎶

From 27th-31st August, five days of live music, trad, culture and family entertainment will take place in venues across Newry 😍

This year's headline event will see the iconic Hothouse Flowers, supported by The New Leaves, take to the stage at the Canal Court Hotel & Spa on Saturday 29th August 🤩

The ever-popular Trad Cruises and Trad Trail are back, alongside live music, a Céilí, children's activities, a Pop-Up Gaeltacht, exhibitions, workshops and lots more happening across the city.

Have you heard the news?

The one-hour parking grace period in Newry is here to stay.

When you pay for on-street parking within Newry's Controlled Parking Zone, you now have up to one hour to return to your vehicle after your paid parking period expires.

For example, the minimum tariff is 20p for 15 minutes. When those 15 minutes expire, you then have up to a further hour to return to your vehicle before a Penalty Charge Notice is issued.

Newry BID actively lobbied for this measure on behalf of our city centre businesses and we would like to thank Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins for listening to the business community and making the grace period permanent.
