Norwich kayaker to represent GB at world championships Norwich's Lucy Lee-Smith is to represent GB at the ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Championships in Poland later this month

There's a few club events coming up in August including a charity paddle supporting Goosejuice Adventures, Summer Party & BBQ and Club Fun Sprint Regatta - check out the MyClubhouse events page for more info.

We aren't all just about celebrating kayaking achievement. Leah Fowler successfully completed the Rat Race 100 C2C from Edinburgh to Glamis, covering 100 miles of challenging Scottish terrain in an impressive 30 hours 22 minutes.

The race tested every aspect of endurance, with long climbs, technical trails and the inevitable highs and lows that come with an event of this magnitude. Leah paced herself well throughout, overcoming the toughest sections and showing real determination right to the finish.

Crossing the line after more than 30 hours on the move is a testament to her resilience, preparation and mental strength. Completing one of the UK's toughest endurance challenges is something to be immensely proud of.

Congratulations, Leah – an outstanding performance and an inspiration 💪

The Saturday morning group spotted by Thorpe Ferry Cafe ... maybe time for a cake stop next week!

Team Norwich headed off to Laleham Park for the Marathon National Championships on the Thames last weekend. We had racers ranging from all age ranges - showing determination and displaying the Norwich team spirit 💛💚

It's been a busy few weeks of racing for NCC! First up the Interclub MacGregor Paddle Challenge and Sprint Regatta last weekend.

As always the team came together for a great weekend of racing - everyone pushing themselves to get those points, showing great teamwork and enjoying the Nottingham sunshine. The highlight of the weekend has be the Mens C4, volunteering to race to allow the event to run - the video footage has provided possibly the best racing moment of 2026!

Also thanks to the Sprint Committee for all their hardwork to run the Regatta.

Congratulations to Lotte and Eva, who both passed their Paddle UK Racing Coach qualification today at NCC.

Both led terrific sessions clearly demonstrating their coaching expertise throughout, as well as performing various rescues and showing a depth of knowledge during their discussion task.

Once a coach with the Racing Coach qualification turns 18, they can take groups out autonomously. The qualification shows impressive commitment, as it involves first aid, safeguarding, two days of core coach training, and two days of racing-specific coach training.

It’s a phenomenal achievement and the end of a significant journey for them both. Well done, Lotte and Eva!
