The 72nd Bedford Hasler served up a scorcher and Norwich Canoe Club responded with one of the closest team results you could wish to see.

Norwich finished second overall on 590, just one point adrift of Bishop's Stortford on 591, with Leighton Buzzard and Chelmsford close behind. One place by one paddler across the whole twelve counting results. It does not get tighter than that, and it took a genuine team effort from top to bottom to get there.

Ian Hayward is currently circumnavigating mainland Britain by Sea kayak - solo & unsupported. This is an ambitious and exhilarating adventure that combines physical endurance, navigational skills, and a deep connection with nature. Ian is fundraising for ‘Surfers Against Sewage’ and ‘Movember’.

Dyson & Ali have taken their kayaking adventures to the glacier waters off Greenland - makes the river in December look positively tropical!

Plus all the numerous kayaking trips and competitions our members take part in!

Massive congratulations to James How & Tim Dowden who have been selected to the GB K4 for Sanabria Marathon & Nerys Hall from Wey KC, who trains at Norwich in term time, on her selection to the Women's Sanabria K4!

Also competing in the Marathon K2 Assessment Race for the Euros, Worlds and Sanabria at Elmbridge last week from Norwich were:

- Estelle Widdows was racing with Tilla Kubisch-Wiles from Reading in Senior Women 24k race
- Jasmine Sargeant was paired up with Kyla Holt from Richmond in the Junior Women's 16K race & came in 3rd

A huge shout out for Chris Sharp who, this weekend, won the GP Men series trophy for this year’s Winter Series. He won all 5 of the races he entered (in the blue boat!).
