What a thrilling, end-to-end game for everyone who came along to watch yesterday!

Both teams showed incredible strength and skill. Fair City opened strong with quick-fire goals from Ellie and a well-worked finish from Savannah.

East Fife fought back hard in the second half, but our defence stood solid. Our squad battled fiercely, delivering great through-balls to the strikers who finished brilliantly. It was a massive team effort where every single player excelled.

Huge congratulations to our new player, Caoimhe, who was voted Player of the Match by the coaches! She fitted in perfectly and put in some fantastic tackles.

Thank you to East Fife for a brilliant, competitive game. Best of luck for the rest of the season!

Fairmuir v Fair City
(League)

A below par and not quite ourselves performance from the girls today as we traveled to Dundee to take on Fairmuir. Always a great game between the teams but this morning we were 2nd best.

We went into the game full of confidence after last week’s brilliant performance.
We raced into a 2 goal early lead after hitting on the break but after a great start we struggled.

Fairmuir found their groove and pegged us back deep in our own half. We usually enjoy plenty of the ball but today our best opportunity to get goals would be to hit on the break. Credit to the Dundee girls as they moved the ball confidently and with purpose.

Somehow we held on, rode our luck (lots) and got to halftime with a 2-1 lead.

Drinks break ☕️ 🥤

Halftime team talk was easy. More effort, more commitment and more fight. We also looked disjointed and a bit all over the place which is unlike us.

Into the 2nd half and the application improved but Fairmuir continued the good play and we fell behind. We did create several good chances to score but great saves and not quite picking the right option in front of goal would mean we never clawed our way back.

In the end we’d suffer defeat and we have no complaints. The best team on the day won!
Well done Fairmuir.

Not our best day but that’s football. We can’t win every game. Proud of how we kept going and did try and get into the game.
Those early 1v1 duals in matches are crucial in games. That’s training sorted on Monday 😜

U10s ⚽️TRAINER OF THE WEEK⚽️

The girls were at the Inch again tonight, hoping and praying the Rain Gods would smile on them (at least until we were done with the session!). Thankfully only some small showers but not enough to dampen their spirits.

One of the girls was on fire from start to finish, getting up to speed quickly with the game format and knocking the ball around well.

Please join me in celebrating this week’s TRAINER OF THE WEEK Charlotte 💪⚽️

The u12s were on the road to Crieff on Saturday after playing against Fairmuir at the South Inch the week before.

The game against Fairmuir saw the girls take on their opponents for the second week in a row.
The girls were fantastic against a very good Fairmuir team. The girls learned alot from their first game of 9s and showed great qualities in defence and attack as well as showing great team togetherness!

Saturdays trip to Crieff saw us take on a Crieff team who never stopped and worked there socks off for the whole game making sure the girls had to be on there game.
The girls again showed great effort and played some great football while defensively working hard.

Saturday sees us back at home as we welcome East Fife to the South Inch.

Fair City v East Fife
(League)

Commanding from start to finish the girls put on a show today with a display of attacking football and excellent teamwork throughout.

From the first whistle we controlled proceedings. The girls moved the ball confidently and created chances through excellent passing combinations and attacking patterns.

Defensively we stood firm and dealt with everything that came our way. Organised and focused we kept East Fife at bay.

The goals were shared between Mya, Cassie and Lailah. We had strong solo runs with good finishes, goals coming from excellent link up play and a thunderbolt rattling off the post and into the goal. Excellent stuff!

Mya and Cassie, the double act who nobody likes to deal with were unstoppable at times. It must be a real pain when you think you’ve got one of them dealt with only for the other to terrorise the defence. Big players with big characters 😜

A couple more girls really caught the eye also.
Lailah in the middle of park and Ellie out wide produced outstanding displays.
Lailah pulled the strings yet again, she’s got a real knack of winning the ball, picking great passes and offering attacking support, she also likes a good old fashioned thunderbolt goal.
Ellie is a gifted footballer, her technique is insane. Her link up play and assists were top notch.

All in all it was a great team performance. Most pleasing was how we stuck to the the game plan. We played some lovely football and played the right way. The girls should be proud of themselves. We really did play as a team today.

Well played to East Fife. Hard day for them but they dug in and never gave up. There is no doubt they’ll bounce back with an attitude like that.

Captain for the day Mya picked Lacey 🧤🧤 as her top player. A clean sheet and had to deal with several tricky long balls. Her decision making when playing out has come on leaps and bounds.

U10s

After being on the road the past 2 weeks, it was nice to host Kinross this morning at the South Inch.
The girls are playing well, holding our own at Tier 2. They’re working hard, finding space and making some excellent passes.
We wish Kinross the best of luck for the remainder of the block 🍀
As it always is, it was very difficult to pick who Player of the March was but this week, please join me in celebrating Rowan as our PLAYER OF THE WEEK. She’s getting stuck into tackles and knocking the ball about very well, well done Rowan 🎉⚽️

U10s ⚽️TRAINER OF THE WEEK⚽️

As always, each of the girls worked hard tonight at the Inch on what was a slightly windier evening than we’d anticipated.

I say it every week, any one of them could have took the trophy home but please join me in thanking and celebrating Hannah who was positive with the ball, passed well and bagged a few goals ⚽️

Well done Hannah 🤝🎉

U10s

The girls were racking up the miles again this morning as we made our way to a warm (but wee bit blowy) Arbroath.
The girls are gradually settling into moving up to Tier 2, starting to find each other in space, pressing the opposition and making things difficult.
They’re taking what they’re doing from training and putting it into practice in games 👏
We wish Arbroath the very best for the remainder of the block.

For this week’s game, we’re reintroducing PLAYER OF THE MATCH! Unfortunately, the new trophy was delivered only this afternoon so the winner couldn’t lift it this morning but don’t worry, the trophy will be passed to the worthy winner at training this week 🏆

Today’s PLAYER OF THE MATCH worked tirelessly defending, attacking, helping other players… I don’t think there was a blade of grass untouched. Please join me in celebrating LILY as today’s player of the match ⚽️

Forfar Farmington v Fair City

Some weeks you play some nice football, some weeks it can be goals galore.

This week we seen a different side to the team. This week we rolled our sleeves up, stood up to the physical battle and refused to be out fought and outmuscled. We also kept our heads when numerous decisions didn’t go our way or were even acknowledged!

The girls were absolutely fantastic. It wasn’t always pretty and we didn’t really play as a team in attacking moments this week but our spirit got us the win and looking back it’s probably one of our most pleasing results.

The game was even possession wise but we had the majority of scoring opportunities, in the end a Mya double and cool and composed Lailah finish grabbed us a 3-1 win.

Well played to Forfar. Scored an absolute screamer and have several strong players. Their GK particularly caught the eye with several brave and outstanding saves. All the best!

Player of the match

Nicole

Choosing just one player of the match today was almost impossible such was our collective effort but it’s got to be said that Nicole put in a shift and a half. Up against pace and power she more than matched her opponent, it was a great battle to watch. In possession she was nice and calm and played good passes.
For someone new to football and the team she already is showing her potential, impressive 👏

U10s ⚽️TRAINER OF THE WEEK⚽️

Something new to celebrate our awesome players 🎉

We’ll be showcasing our players via Player Profiles. We hope you like getting to know our team.

Every week it’s difficult to choose who puts in the most effort, supports their teammates and pays close attention to instruction. All the girls were amazing but this week Olivia took home the Trainer of the Week. Olivia always gives 100% and shows a huge willingness to learn and develop.

Well done Olivia 🤝🎉
