U12 Girls

The U12s took a trip up to Blairgowrie this morning to face another tough test. The girls continue to grow each work as we continue through the games. Defensively strong to begin the game with some good attacks towards the end.

Really pleased with how the girls are playing as they begin talking to each other more on the pitch, supporting each other during the games and continuing to learn week in week out.

Player of the Match
Emily- Covered pretty much every blade of the artificial grass with some good blocks, as well as leading some strong breaks to get us up the park.

U10s

After a couple of weeks on the road, the girls were back on home turf as we welcomed Breadalbane to the Inch this morning.
We knew we’d be in for a tough match and Breadalbane certainly brought their ‘A’ game. The game ebbed and flowed with each team trying to make their mark. Some great goals and passing from each team with honours shared 🤝
Our Player of the Match played some great
Football today, playing her part outfield scoring and also taking her turn in goal, keeping Breadalbane at bay!

U14s

Bayside v Fair City

Since returning from the summer hols we’ve been inconsistent. Moments of great play, coupled with moments to forget.

With that in mind the girls spent near 3 hours this week working on our shape and how we want to play.

Today, we played an absolute blinder!

From the off we controlled the match. We moved the ball as well as we ever have, we defended with fight and spirit and we took (most 😜) of our chances.

It was brilliant to watch.

Clean sheet for our GKs Lacey and Imogen 🧤🧤

Our backline working hard and crucially, covering each other. Rose and Eilidh in particular were brilliant.

Midfield and out wide we adapted to the tweak we made to our shape fantastically well. Lailah at CM ran the show.

And up top our deadly duo of Mya and Cassie hopefully now realising that when you play as a duo you actually score more goals, especially over a season. The link ups and unselfish play was top notch. As formidable a front two as you’ll get on this form.

Great to see Lailah grab a double and a good spread of girls chipping in with assists.

Well played to Bayside. All the best in your remaining games this season.

Player of the match

Mya & Cassie

Took on board the coaches comments, worked on the problem at training and go and deliver on a match day. Outstanding 👌

Big shouts

Rose & Eilidh

Everything you want from your CB’s. You gotta win those duals, they do. They relish the challenge and get tore in. Love it 💪

Olliea

Olliea has come on leaps and bounds. We all love winning games but our real win will always be seeing someone develop and grow. She’s transformed as a player. One to watch, for sure!

U12 Girls

The U12 Girls welcomed Dundee West Royals to the South Inch this morning for our second game of the season. The girls are continuing to learn as we grow into 9 aside and put in a good defensive display in the first half adapting well to the new shape.

Really proud of the development we are showing as we continue through the season against some strong opposition.

Player of the Match - Another double this week

Maggie - Getting stronger with every game. Got stuck in to the game well playing in midfield and put in some good tackles and clearances as well as getting up to help support the attack.

Caoimhe - Strong in the defensive line with some good block and play to help us build our from the back. Recovered well to help win the ball back as well.

U10s

Another away game for the U10s yesterday as we took the coastal road to Arbroath.
A tough morning under an unusually sunny Arbroath pitch but the girls gave their all from start to finish.
Our Player of the Match this week made sure the opposition had a difficult time though, working forward and coming back to support the team. Getting on the scoresheet was the cherry on top to mark a great game.

U14s

Fair City v Fairmuir

Never a dull game when we play Fairmuir. An absolute banker for a cheeky wee fiver on both teams to score 😜😂

As predicted it was a real end to end game from the start, with both teams opting for attack and going for it.

The first half was very even. We raced into an early 2 goal lead, but Fairmuir hit back. With neither team able to take control, we’d ping pong, to halftime. Breathless stuff from both teams!

Highlight for us was Sophie’s long range thunderbolt into the top corner. An amazing strike ⚽️

Halftime 3-4 down.

☕️ 🥤

Into the second half and we frustratingly fell apart for 15 minutes and we were duly punished by the impressive Fairmuir striker. We just couldn’t handle her skill and tenacity and she took no prisoners 😂

Once we steadied ourselves from the Fairmuir No9s onslaught we grew back into the game and grabbed another couple of well worked goals.

A tip of the hat has to go to Cassie as she smashed her own thunderbolt top bins. Obviously a day for the spectacular.

In the end it was a brilliant game of football against a team who we always have enjoyable games against. Shame we couldn’t get the win but plenty of positives in our performance once again. We just need to sharpen up “as a team” defensively.
We create so many good opportunities, we know that when we click, we’re a threat.

We asked for a response after last weeks poor showing. Our main gripe was getting out run and giving up. Today the attitude and work rate was spot on. Can’t ask for more than that!

We just need to piece it all together consistently.

Well played to Fairmuir. Great coach, great girls, great team!

Nicole

Her best performance in a Fair City shirt. Her effort, drive and fighting spirit were unbelievable. Tracking back, bombing forward, winning duals, linking up and getting shots off.
Sensational 👌💪👍👏

Big shout

Sophie

Scored a screamer, linked up and put in a shift out wide. A great player with a brilliant attitude. Well done 👍

U10s

The U10s were on their travels this morning, the host, Kinross!
A very even game that could have gone either way, both teams making some great passes, defending well and plenty of shots on goal. A great game for the neutral!
Our Player of the Match this week worked amazingly hard for the team, covering multiple positions and getting on the score sheet.
This week, please join me in celebrating Charlotte as our PLAYER OF THE MATCH 🎉⚽️

U14s

Carnoustie v Fair City

It’s been a long 10 week wait for a match but this morning the FC girls made their way up the A90 Carnoustie bound to take on the ever impressive Carnoustie Panmure.

It’s an old football cliche but it really was a game of two halves.

The first half was a really good contest. We were well in the game, creating good chances that unfortunately we just couldn’t convert. Credit to our opponents too, who played some great football and made it a really enjoyable match.

Drinks break 🥤 ☕️

All good, more of the same but take those chances please.

Unfortunately it wasn’t to be. Out came a goal scoring Carnoustie and they blasted a couple of quick fire goals past us and we lost our way. We did recompose ourselves and rallied but our hosts were on top and in no mood to be kind. Several more goals followed and in the end we were well beaten.

Overall, though, it was a great game of football with plenty of positives to take from the first half ⚽️👏

Well played to Carnoustie and all the best!

Oddly, in all the excitement we forgot to fulfill our duties and grab a photo of the girls and hand out our player of the match 😂

Here goes………

Player of the match

Everyone

Eyes will roll 🙄, girls will demand we pick an individual, but from the safety of home it’s easy to acknowledge the continued collective effort and the group of girls we have. Not our best day but the future is bright with this lot!!

U12 Girls

Opened their block of games today with a tough test against Breadalbane & Strathtay on a warm day.

A good way to open up and a first introduction for the girls to having a referee in the middle as we get used to playing 9v9 games.

Really pleased with the learning the girls are showing so far as they begin to understand playing offsides.

Hard to pick just one player of the match today as they all got stuck in and gave their all today.

Martha - some really good work defensively and when playing higher up in attack showing a good understanding of positioning and offside

Charlotte - another with some key defensive interventions all match
