๐ฉท Wellbeing Week starts tomorrow.
We're fortunate enough to see first-hand how having a goal to work towards can positively impact both physical and mental wellbeing.
Whether it's your first 10K, your first Half Marathon or your tenth, training for an event can help create healthy habits, build confidence and provide a real sense of achievement.
As Wellbeing Week begins, we're celebrating the positive role running can play in supporting wellbeing and helping people achieve things they never thought possible.
What has training for an event helped you achieve beyond event day?

It always makes us proud to see young people doing something so thoughtful for others.
Frankie Lloyd recently took part in Run Plymouth's Half Marathon Primary Schools Challenge. In the weeks leading up to the event, he ran a mile every day at school before finishing with his final mile on Plymouth Hoe. He did brilliantly, completing that last mile in just six minutes and becoming the first boy in his year to cross the finish line.
Frankie chose to do this in memory of his Grandad, who very sadly died in March 2025 after a short and unexpected battle with cancer. Frankieโs mum, Jessica said: โWe only had 6 days from being told he had cancer to when he sadly passed. As you can imagine this really was a massive shock to us all but especially Frankie. He was ever so close to his Grandad and saw him everyday. St Lukeโs was due for their first visit the day he passed away. But St Lukeโs hold a special place in our hearts, especially as my husbandโs mum and my nan were both looked after at St Lukeโs. We are so grateful for all the compassion shown to us and will be forever grateful.โ
Last week, Frankie visited our specialist unit at Turnchapel with his mum and dad to mark his achievement. Not only did he complete the challenge wearing St Lukeโs colours with pride, but he also raised an incredible ยฃ645 in memory of his Grandad.
Well done Frankie!
