We have a NEW BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU BLACK BELT in town!!

Last night, Coach Jed was awarded his Black Belt, a moment that represents so much more than the colour around his waist.

A black belt isn’t just simply earned through years on the mats. It’s earned through dedication, consistency, humility, sacrifice, resilience and a willingness to keep learning, even when the journey gets difficult.

To become a true martial artist, you have to embrace the whole journey. The wins and the losses. The good days and the hard days. You learn to overcome adversity, to respect your training partners, to help those around you and to constantly strive to become better, both on and off the mats.

And that is exactly what Coach Jed represents.

He doesn’t just wear a black belt, he represents what a black belt should be.

A coach who gives his knowledge freely.
A teammate who lifts others up.
A martial artist who leads by example.
A person who understands that the belt is not the destination, but another chapter in the journey.

The black belt carries responsibility. It represents the knowledge you’ve gained, but more importantly, the responsibility to pass that knowledge on and help build the next generation.

Coach Jed, you have more than earned this.

I was privilege to award Ethan his blue belt. In Brazilian JiuJitsu, a blue belt is a huge milestone. It’s the first major belt you earn, and it represents much more than just learning techniques. Many people start JiuJitsu, but not everyone reaches blue belt. Over the past few years, Ethan has worked incredibly hard, dedicating himself to both gi and nogi training. He’s stepped outside his comfort zone by competing, earning himself a bronze medal in his very first tournament, winning matches with this favourite submission, the triangle. What’s even more impressive is that he’s balanced all of this while studying & sitting his A levels, showing maturity, discipline, and good time management. Also showing commitment to keep showing up, even when he’s busy or on the hard days. Ethan, you’ve earned this belt through hard work and perseverance. We are proud of everything you’ve achieved so far, and we can’t wait to see you achieve more. Wear your blue belt with pride young man 🦍🖤
