It has been a sad week at this week as we have had to announce the enforced retirement of our beloved colleague Franke.
Franke has served our members for over 9 years.
Often temperamental and very high maintenance, Franke has had more parts than Trigger's broom!
But sadly this week, Franke finally went kaput!!
We will miss our coffee machine!!
Time to look for a new one!

Fantastic progress made by .
Craig has been so consistent with his training since joining in February - 3 coached sessions per week with .coaching plus additional cardio work.
Craig can't speak highly enough of the guidance and support he receives from Adam ... but massive credit must go also go to Craig for simply turning up and getting the work done!

Awesome to have my best mate of nearly 25 years come to visit today! Don't think we've aged that much ... the inset picture was taken in 1995 at the International Society of Biomechanics Conference in Jyvaskyla, Finland.
To give Phil his official title ...
Dr Phil Graham-Smith PhD, Reader in Biomechanics and Innovation at the Manchester Metropolitan University Institute of Sport, and also member of the Sports Science Advisory Panel.
Phil is overseeing a Masters project to examine the relationship between strength and HYROX performance in both individual stations and actual race time - the aim of the project is to effectively determine individual's theoretical minimum HYROX race time based on the test results.
We are delighted to announce that we will be offering our members the opportunity to take part in this study.
As part of the test battery, we've got the Concept3 Strength Erg to measure Leg Press, Bench Press, and Seated Row performance.
If anyone is interested in taking part in the project and undertaking the Hyrox Specific tests, please comment the word TEST below.

Time for a reset ...
Following on from 's awesome Hyrox Debut in Cardiff - jumping in at the deep end with a solo event, Sam is back in training with a more strength / physique based focus for the summer.
Sam also wanted to reasses her Functional Movement Screen as we had incorporated a good amount of hip mobility and stability work into her Hyrox schedule.
Sam scored well on joining and on reassessment we had addressed the imbalance between right and left sides on her Active Straight Leg (ASLR) which is a positive outcome and puts Sam in a good position as she focuses on her strength programmes over the Summer.
To note, the ASLR assesses hamstring and calf mobility as well as hip mobility and core & pelvic control.
In practical, ASLR assessment has every day revelance to efficient running mechanics and core control in movements like Burpee Broad Jumps - which are obviously 2 key elements in a Hyrox event.
Congratulations to Sam once again for her achievement in Cardiff - absolutely awesome ....
Manchester 2027 may even be on the cards!
