A brilliant weekend of racing for Morpeth ASC at the Alnwick Autumn Invitational! 💪

We had swimmers representing the club from C1 all the way through to Performance, with many of our younger swimmers competing in their very first gala! It was fantastic to see so many swimmers getting involved, gaining valuable racing experience and supporting one another throughout the weekend.

A huge well done to every swimmer who competed. Whether it was your first gala, a new PB, a qualifying time or simply putting into practice what you’ve been working on in training, there was plenty to be proud of!

Finally, a massive thank you to all our coaches, team managers, marshals, officials, medal team and fundraising team for giving up their time to make the weekend possible. Events like these simply couldn’t happen without the dedication of our volunteers.

Well done, Team Morpeth! 🙌❤️🤍

Congratulations to our Morpeth swimmers!

A huge congratulations to Honor, Aurora and Emily, who have been selected to attend the Northumberland & Durham SA County Development Swimming Camp! 🏊‍♀️

This is a fantastic opportunity for the girls to experience a county-level development environment, work with coaches from across the region and continue building the skills and habits that will support their progression within the sport.

It is a great recognition of the work they have been putting into their swimming, and we hope they really enjoy the experience and make the most of the opportunity.

Well done Honor, Aurora and Emily — everyone at Morpeth ASC is very proud of you! ❤️🤍

South Tyneside Gala recap!

A fantastic weekend of racing for our Morpeth swimmers at the South Tyneside Gala! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️

It was great to see so many swimmers getting the opportunity to race across a range of events, with plenty of strong swims, PBs and positive performances throughout the weekend. Most importantly, there was some really encouraging progress on the skills and technical areas we’ve been working on in training.

A huge well done to everyone who competed the attitude, support for teammates and effort across the weekend was brilliant to see. There is still plenty of work ahead, but this was another really positive step early in the season.

Thank you as always to our coaches, team managers, officials and volunteers who gave up their time to support the swimmers, and to all of the parents who came along and cheered the team on.

Finally, thank you to South Tyneside Swimming Club for hosting a great weekend of racing! 👏

Well done, Morpeth! ❤️🤍

It was not only our swimmers that were celebrated on our return to swimming get together….

Volunteers are a huge part of what makes our club motor.

You only have to look as far as current head coach Jake, who started out as an aquatic helper many years ago.

To celebrate these volunteers awards are given out annually to our unsung heroes.

Coach Stephen, alongside Naomi, both won the unsung hero awards!

Head Coach Jake said, “Last season when we needed additional help, Stephen stepped up with no hesitation bringing consistency, reliability and commitment to the role.”

He added, “the willingness to step up when the club needed him is what this award is about!”

When discussing the impact behind the scenes Jake said “Naomi has done a huge amount behind the scenes particularly in organising and coordinating our team managers, which is one of those jobs that can easily go unnoticed but is absolutely essential to the smooth running of the club.”

He concluded by saying, “she has stepped in herself on many occasions and has always been willing to support wherever she is needed. She thoroughly deserves this recognition.”

As for the young volunteer award, that went to Lily. Lily has worked with many coaches since becoming an aquatic helper, and the feedback from each mentor has been outstanding.

Jake said, “Lily has consistently shown a real willingness to help out across the club and is always keen to get involved and learn.

“Lily has made a brilliant start to her coaching and volunteering journey, and we’re really excited to see how she continues to develop over the coming years!”

A fantastic evening yesterday at Bedlington Social Club for Morpeth.

A coming together of swimmers, coaches, volunteers and parents to celebrate everyone’s contribution to our club.

An evening filled with bingo, raffles, games, disco (we won’t talk about the dancing 🫣) and plenty of fun!

We all would like to say a huge thank you to Loren and the fundraising team for helping to organise the evening, you did a fantastic job! 🙌

Now it’s time to mention our amazing swimmers!!

Across nine squads, we had 20 winners and of course, our swimmer of the year!

Unfortunately only two awards could be given for each group, but every swimmer could have won! Each and every one of our athletes have been fantastic and long may it continue! ❤️🤍

🏊‍♂️ JUNIOR LEAGUE FINAL 🏊‍♀️

A fantastic afternoon of racing for Morpeth at the Junior League Final, with the team finishing a very respectable 5th place, narrowly pipped to 4th by South Tyneside. 🙌

Congratulations to our friends at Newcastle Swim Team who came away with the victory 🤝

Considering the high standard of the clubs within Division 1, this was a great achievement from the whole team and there was plenty of strong racing throughout the morning.
It was especially brilliant to see so many swimmers taking part in their first Junior League competition, gaining valuable racing experience and getting stuck into the team atmosphere.

At the other end, today also marked the final Junior League competition for several of our older swimmers. A huge thank you to them for everything they have contributed to the Junior League team over the years!

A big well done to every swimmer who raced today and helped contribute points towards the team total. Thank you as always to head coach Jake and our volunteers; Terry, Liz, Rachel, Lily, Fran. And, a special thanks to all parents who supported the team and helped make the day possible.

A really positive result in a tough Division 1 and plenty for us to build on.

Well done, Morpeth! ❤️🤍
