Another amazing set of finals for the Morpeth swimmers.

Tilly timed her 400 FS perfectly, making her move at the 250m mark & she didn’t let up! A 32 second final 50 saw her move into first with just 25m to go. Her second gold and another 7 second PB swimming 4:29 🥇🔥

Abby Coventry & Lucy R***r were in the very next final. Lining up against some great competition they turned almost together at rhe half way mark. With a strong build Lucy moved into 3rd place with 50m to go picking up her second medal of the week! 🥉 Abby came home to finish in 6th!

Our final swimmer of this years nationals was Annie Falkous who started us off as well 17 days ago. Annie finished a respectable 9th in the 200 IM after we think 11,000m of racing alone!

Super proud of how the Morpeth swimmers conducted themselves this morning. Over 2 weeks of high level racing for some and it can be a challenge to hold form physically & mentally!

Arabella started things off with a PB in 400 FS
Tilly was up next and showed no signs of fatigue also setting a new PB and booking her place in tonight’s 13/14 years 400 FS final

15 year olds Abby & Lucy went 2 heats later and both put in great efforts. Lucy swam a new PB with a well controlled effort and Abby beat her entry time with a strong front end to the race.

As the girls left the Medley duo of Baxter & Annie arrived.

Baxter showed great improvement in pacing to set a new PB in 400 IM finishing 13th. A good finish to his first National competition

Annie started our National competition 17 days ago and went today in 200 IM. Just outside her PB but did enough to qualify into tonight’s 13/14 years 200 IM final

400 FS girls will go at 3pm & Annie 5pm

And just like that, the Swim England Summer Championships are coming to an end…

To finish off, six Morpeth swimmers will sign us off for the season at Ponds Forge.

TILLY WINS A FANTASTIC GOLD MEDAL 🥇

After smashing her PB by over 5 seconds this morning Tilly went into tonight’s final fastest qualifier (but it doesn’t always work out that way in the finals). Tilly held her nerve after a fast start from her competitors. A strong build in 2nd 50 saw Matilda move up the field, with perfect pacing and timing she came through to take win, GOLD Medal and take another 2 seconds off her PB just set this morning! 🙌

Only one more day to go… 🕰️

A quiet morning but more outstanding swims from the Morpeth swimmers in Sheffield!

Baxter started things off in the 200 BK. Some great UW skills & consistent pacing moved him up the field to finish 3rd in his heat, and a new PB by over 2 seconds.

Arabella was up next. She attacked the start of her 200 FLY, finishing just outside the final. Some lessons learnt to take forward into the future 😊

Tilly concluded our morning in the 200 FLY. Great control & race ex*****on from Tilly. A very mature swim saw her take over 5 Seconds took off her previous PB qualifying for tonight’s 13/14 years final in top position!

Yesterday was a fantastic day at Welsh Nationals for our two competitors!

Eve and Juliette both made finals in their 200 Brst and they delivered with fantastic swims in the evening!

Juliette dropped a huge 3 seconds off her heat time to finish 6th.

Eve powered through and knocked 2 seconds off her lifetime best to take 4th overall!

Eve also ticked off her first long course 800 Free in the morning.

Great stuff girls 👏💪 Well done!

A more quiet day for Morpeth with Baxter taking on the 200 Back before Tilly and Arabella swim the 200 Fly!

Day 4 heats at the Swim England Summer Championships, a tough morning but Morpeth delivered some good performances once again!

Arabella was just over her 100 BK PB to finish 36th, whilst still only 12!

Zach & Baxter both delivered new PBs in 100 BK to finish 17th & 33rd In the 13/14 years 100 BK!

Ava B made her national debut, at 17 Ava has worked incredibly hard to get here. A strong swim saw her finish 12th (2nd reserve for tonight’s final)!

Katie Cov was up next, after a strong middle 100 she did enough to book her place in tonight’s 18+ 200 BR final. She’ll be looking for a SB tonight at around 6:30pm

Arabella was back in the pool for the 800 at lunchtime! More great pacing and a new six second PB & heat win for this year’s youngest competitor 👏🏻 14th overall in 13/14 age group after coming in 24th!

Whilst others are returning to the pool, Ava will have her first swim of this year’s nationals!

🌟 Proud day for our girls at Welsh Nationals!

Juliette started strong with a Personal Best in the 200 Free, she backed it up with a solid 50 Brst, and then delivered a massive 9-second long course PB in the 400 IM!

Eve also had a brilliant day smashing a PB in her 200 Free and swimming very close to her entry time in the 50 Brst.

Both girls competing with great determination and heart. The club are proud of everything they’re achieving! 💪🏊‍♀️
