Latest round of the United Formula Ford championship at Snetterton rounding out a very busy 3 weeks for Harrison Morrow behind the wheel.

It was fabtastic to have Grace Bates racing alongside Harrison. and watching how the two helped each other as fantastic.

Despite no prior practice in a Single seater around the 300 Track, H clocked a competitive time in the brief morning Practice and was happy with the balance on the car.

However, TQ was less than ideal with H breaking down twice with an electrical issue and Grace doing oh so well to hold the car when a suspension link broke. It was as Sara said, all hands-on deck to make sure both cars were out and ready for race 1.

After the disrupted TQ, H was out of position starting 13th. H Made some progress, but the race was soon under safety car after a crash early on Lap one. After it resumed H was then in a big long battle for 6th place, he made progress, but then was compromised when another car spun, finishing a hard-fought 9th. It was clear to see that the older cars were just not as quick vs the new chassis around this track. The 1980s designed Reynard, just not having the sheer grip of the new cars. Despite this H was still able to fight and battle.

Race 2 saw H start dead last and after a good first lap H was up to 11th, However the next car down the road had gapped him by over 3 seconds, H kept pushing to try and close on Cody up the road, but just as he got close the race was red flagged due to poor Gavin losing a wheel. I think the pace H had would have certainly made Cody have to work hard over the last 4 minutes or so, but alas we will never know.

Either way it was further great points in the championship and H can reflect on 3 very good weeks of driving. While all the results may not have been as we wanted, his level behind the wheel has risen considerably. Thanks to the support of Shaws Motorsport for a wonderful day.
Valarie was tammed eventually by Grace after being super naughty.

Race Report coming soon.
However we can share the championship updates from the United Formula Ford after yesterdays races Snetterton .
This championship was never the focus. It was really to start with a test opportunity for the then new Reynard from Shaws Motorsport .
However we had such fun and H so enjoyed the challenge of taking a car designed in the 1980s and fighting modern cars.
We signed up for as many events as we could make, saving money by using only old tyres with no testing. Unless it was on the day.
No expectations at all, however its been damn amazing.
To run some of the top uk FF1600 talent so close has been simply fantastic.

Thank you to James and Steve from the championship.

Sadly we miss the next two rounds but we will be there for the season finale.

Championship update below. Plus a few pics from the saturday.

After Zandvoort came Donington Park and two vital rounds for the BRSCC Super Classic Pre '99 Formula Ford 1600 Championship

While H has enjoyed some strong results the competition has just kept getting stronger
This round saw current Champion Tom Hawkins, re energised with new parts and Set up on his car, Ollie Roberts back to The track after being missed at Silverstone, Leon Frost raring to go and of a real run of form alongside a number of strong guest and new drivers, inc Alex Ames
The reality was that there was a top 9 or 10 that could fight for overall honours and H had to find a way to maintain his title challenge.
TQ was tough, H was constantly in the wrong place at the wrong time and never got a lap in that showed what he could do. Frustrated H took to the footage and data and could see what potential he had, the trick was how to use it

Race 1
H Made an average start and fell back to 8th.
He went on the attack early and got himself up to 4th but took a lot from the tyres and decided to try to work with another car to catch the next two up the road battling. They ran out of laps to do anything meaningful and H finished an okay 5th, thankful his consistent finishing this year saw that swapped out for a dropped score, so the damage was not as bad, but it was still a 5-point swing back to the current champion.

H did what he does very well, he re set and re-focused for the Sunday. He identified where he could be better and applied that to his performance

Race 2
A decent start from 5th was then compromised by racing contact in front of H, so yet again he dropped back.

A huge frantic 6 car fight then took place, delighting the spectators as FF1600s swapped places all over the track. Alex Ames got away again, which was frustrating, and in the middle of a great scrap, H showed what he could do pace wise, setting the 2nd fastest lap behind Alex and scoring extra points. Sadly, the race was cut short by a nasty crash to fellow racer Leon. We are so glad he is okay.
H had one racing lap left and took advantage of a loose Mirror for the current champ to sweep round the outside of him just before the chequered flag. Pulling back some valuable championship points.
This was not the exuberant, sideways attacking H, this was a driver using his head and being mature in a highly competitive grid. sometimes you have to play the longer game as we get into the later rounds.
4 races left, huge pressure from Tom and His team. They are leaving no stone unturned to try and beat H and secure a hat trick of championships.
Shaws Motorsport and H's partners will do everything they can do to support H is his first full year in car racing.
Pics from James Roberts they are brilliant.
Thank you to all that support and partner with H.
