We’re excited to share that Ignite Basketball Academy is evolving into Hythe Hoops Basketball Club!

With a brand new committee and new coaching team, we’re building something even BIGGER and BETTER while keeping the same great venue and training night you know and love.

🏀 We’ll be competing competitively in the Development Basketball League!

🏀 Clear pathways to Suns and Oaks National League teams!

🏀 Opportunities available for all age groups from U10 to U18!

We’re also pleased to welcome our new coach, Jack Norman, to the team!

Ignite V Whiteley Warriors U16

In a thrilling comeback, Ignite defeated Whiteley Warriors II 37-31 in a hard-fought T10 basketball clash. The game, held at Deer Park School showcased Ignite’s resilience and determination after a challenging start.

The first quarter belonged to the Warriors, who stormed to a 15-2 lead. Their high-energy defense and clinical offense left Ignite searching for answers. However, Ignite regrouped during the break, bringing renewed intensity and focus into the second quarter.

Jack Elgar emerged as the standout player for Ignite, putting on a scoring clinic and contributing an impressive 20 points. His leadership on the court was instrumental in turning the tide of the game. Alongside Jack, Charlie played a crucial role, displaying exceptional defense and making key rebounds and screens that inspired the team’s resurgence.

By halftime, Ignite had closed the gap significantly, trailing by just six points. The second half saw Ignite’s defense tighten, forcing the Warriors into turnovers and tough shots. Offensively, Ignite’s teamwork and smart ball movement began to pay dividends as they took control of the game.

In the final minutes, Ignite held their nerve, securing a well-earned 37-31 victory. The win marked an impressive comeback and highlighted the team’s determination and cohesion under pressure.

Jack and Charlie were both named Players of the Day, a testament to their outstanding performances and leadership on the court.

Massive respect to Whiteley Warriors for a thrilling contest which was enjoyed by all players and spectators. Thank you Outlet Basketball Club for having us! 🤝
