💙 CLUB UPDATE – WE’RE BACK UP AND RUNNING 💙

Following the devastating theft of our main power cables on Saturday, we are delighted to confirm that the whole site is now back up and running.

It has been an incredibly challenging few days, but the response from our community has once again shown just how strong our club is.

We would firstly like to thank Dave Katon, who worked tirelessly on Friday and Saturday to carry out emergency repairs, make the site safe and restore electricity to our tennis and bowls sections.

Since Saturday, R&M Electrical have been on site and have very kindly supplied both materials and labour completely free of charge. Their support has been fantastic, and they have managed to re-route our electrical supply and get the whole site operational again.

For now, this provides us with a temporary solution. At a later date, we will look to replace the stolen cables and install them underground. This will allow the new electrical infrastructure to be incorporated into our new pavilion project, which we are hopeful will finally get underway in the not-too-distant future.

Unfortunately, the theft has created an additional and completely unexpected cost to the pavilion project, adding further pressure to those already working incredibly hard to make the project happen. Despite this setback, we remain fully committed to moving the project forward.

We would also like to thank Councillor Peter Armstrong for the support he has shown us throughout this week. It has been hugely appreciated.

We are also incredibly grateful to Complete Security, who are kindly installing a new CCTV system at the site. We will continue to work closely with our landlords, Exxon, to look at further ways we can improve security and help ensure an incident like this does not happen again.

Most importantly, we can now get back to focusing on what really matters — providing sport and a safe place for hundreds of people every week across all four sports sections.

This week has been a difficult reminder of the challenges clubs can face, but it has also shown us just how strong our community is.

To everyone who has offered help, donated time, supplied materials, checked in on us, shared our messages or simply shown their support — thank you.

We will be forever grateful.
