Community Pantry Evening Opening Trial
We're excited to announce that, from Tuesday 13 October, the Round About Café Community Pantry will be opening on Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 7pm for a 12-week trial.
This new session has been introduced in response to research carried out by Anne, one of our volunteers, who recently trained as a Community Researcher through the FAIR Food Project. Anne found that some people are unable to visit the pantry during the day due to work, caring responsibilities or other commitments, while others would prefer to visit when the café is closed and the environment is quieter.
To support the extra opening time, we've arranged an additional FareShare delivery. However, as this is a trial and food availability can vary, there may not always be as much food available on Tuesdays as there is on Mondays.
Not a pantry member yet? Anyone with an SO postcode can join for just £1 per year. Members can shop once a week and choose either: 🛒 Up to 10 items for £3.50, or 🛒 Up to 15 items for £5
Just pop into the café and complete a short membership form to get started.
We're also looking for volunteers to help make the session a success. If you can spare an hour on a Tuesday evening to help run the pantry, or if you're able to collect surplus food from local supermarkets, we'd love to hear from you. Extra volunteers will help us increase the amount of food available and support more local people.
