Starts at the MacRobert Arts Centre at 10:30am.
Today's walk is up into Yellowcraig wood. This is the wood to the east of the campus and is named for the Gorse and Broom blossom that covered the crags in times past - edged out by rhodadendrons - although making a comeback. The walk has some lengthy and steep uphill stretches and may last 2 hours plus. This is our most energetic walk and we hope to have a short picnic at the cliffside viewpoint. A small snack to eat ,and share, and something to drink are ideal.The forecast is for rain showers so we may divert to a walk to Cocksburn reservoir if ground conditions are poor. Ian
University Walking Group
A walking group, open to all that takes advantage of the scenery around Stirling University. Walks start at the MacRobert Centre at 10.30am every Saturday.
Our group started in 2009 as an collaboration between the University and Active Stirling. During that time our numbers have varied between 6 and 25 and we have managed to walk on over 48 weeks of the year. We also vary in age and level of fitness but this doesn't seem to make any difference because the most important thing we have in common is our enjoyment of walking. Our walks vary from fairly f

Thanks to Angela for leading the Abbey Craig and Wallace monument walk on Saturday, and to all who joined us. We dodged the rain and enjoyed some pleasant weather on our walk.

Today's walk is up to and round the Abbey Craig. This is the volcanic outcrop topped off by the Wallace Monument. The walk has some lengthy uphill stretches and should last about 2 hours.The forecast is for light cloud and light winds. Ian

Starts at the MacRobert Arts Centre at 10:30 am.
Today's walk is down into Bridge of Allan and round Haws Park. Created during the expansion of Bridge of Allan. The path follows along nice stretch of the Allan Water . The walk is mainly flat and should last about 2 hours. The forecast is for light cloud and a gentle breeze.It will be quite warm so some water is a good idea.Ian

Today's walk is up the Copper Mine Path. This is the path in the middle of Mine wood in Bridge of Allan. The walk has some lengthy uphill stretches and should last about 2 hours. The forecast is for light cloud and light winds with a bit of sunshine a possibility. We will do the downhill route in Mine wood just for a change. Ian

Today's walk is up into Hermitage woods. This is the wood behind the campus and is named for the folly built into the cliffside. The walk has some lengthy uphill sections and should last about 2 hours.The forecast is for light cloud and light winds. Look out for a good show of bluebells in the woods. Ian
