Months people wait to be seen.

In minutes the advice is rest.

This Saturday we're running a mobility workshop to show you how to get around it.

We did have 20 spots, only 8 left so be quick.

From moon boot to GNR

Caroline had a foot injury that meant wearing a moon boot in the gym.

To be fair... It's still in the gym somewhere. At some point we got sick of tripping over it because she didn't need it anymore.

Now she has smashed the Great North Run.

We're proud. That lass who nearly never made it in... Who sat thinking should I cancel.

Who knew it'd end up here?

It's not just about the gym
It's not just fitness...

It's who you become along the way.

We keep hearing this…

People told to avoid strength exercise for joint pain.

Pain doesn’t mean you have to avoid or stop doing things, you just change the way you do it.

“Stop going to the gym”
(person that doesn’t understand exercise programs)

“Don’t do lunges”
(Read a book once that said lunges are bad for your knees)

“Take it slow”
What does that even mean 🤦🏻‍♂️

Then older you get the faster you lose muscle.

Muscle gone = less protection

Less protection = less support

Less support = more pain

Worst back pain advice…

“Just strengthen your core…”

Jo was already training at a gym. Turning up, doing the weights, putting the work in.

Then Libi sat her on a low stool and asked her to push herself up with her hands.

She couldn't do it.

Her words: "It was almost like I'd forgotten how to lift up off a low stool."

Training hard and moving well are 2 different things.

You can be doing everything right and still have a hole in it. You just don't know until somebody tests it.

That's what the mobility workshop is. Saturday 19 September

Pushing through it on your own is a different job entirely.

Not the pain itself. The doing it alone. Nobody to tell you whether that ache is fine or whether you should stop.

That's the bit people get wrong about training with something that hurts. It isn't about being tough. It's about somebody knowing the difference.

Dawn on what changed when she stopped guessing.

05/09/2026

You can just be yourself in here.

11 seconds, and it's the whole point of the place.

No performance. No pretending you know what you're doing. No getting changed into something you'd never normally wear.

Turn up as you are. That's it.

She put herself last for 2 years and called it "busy".

This one's a minute long and worth the minute.

Adele on why she said nothing, why she assumed it was just her age, and what finally made her pick the phone up.

If you've been quietly working around something for longer than you'd admit to anyone, this is the one to watch.

02/09/2026

The scan that changed everything...

Not the bathroom scales. The number nobody talks about, sat around the organs, quietly doing the actual damage.

She saw it and it frightened her. Then she watched it come down, and that became the thing worth chasing.

That's why we scan. Not to make anyone feel bad about a number, but so you're working on what's actually there instead of guessing.

Her reaction to seeing it is the honest bit.

I was scared I'd fall all over.

That's what it does to you. You don't decide to be careful, you just are. Watching the pavement. Holding the rail. Working out where your feet are going before you get there.

Then one day you notice you've stopped doing it, and you couldn't say exactly when it went.

Getting the fear off you is worth every bit as much as getting the pain off you. Nobody ever mentions that bit.
