Pro Footballl session- pre season preparation β½οΈ
Back in with and ex Swindon Town youth player π
Little snippet of some of the work the lads put in today πͺ
The mindset from both to turn up and grind it out is a credit to them; knowing that it will benefit them when they return to pre season πββοΈ β½οΈ
Who would we like to see them sign for? π βοΈβ¦.Leave us a comment below with your thoughts β¬οΈ π

3 player session with a pro footballer β½οΈ π
Today we had a morning session with current professional player, Billy Bodin ()
Pre season approaching so good to work with Bill again and keep him sharp until he returns to training for his next club π
Myself and Kai () joined In to make it a fun, but challenging session π
β’ Technical work
β’ Combination play
β’ Short sharp football movements throughout
β’ Finishing drill
β’ Shooting competition to end the session
Really good to train with someone who has elite technique and ability, showing the levels required to stay at the top of your game π π₯

Group sessions β½οΈ
Warm up drill:
Groups of 3. Player has to scan and check for colour held up behind them, red means bounce pass back and green means turn and play π΄ π’
π points- Checking shoulders/scanning, accurate passes, high intensity, quick turns.
Possession drill:
4v2. Defenders must work as a unit to stop players hitting the central football. Team in possession must keep the ball and look for the right time to pe*****te and hit the ball for a point β½οΈ
π points:
In possession- High tempo quick passing, be patient and wait for gaps to appear, combinations together, movement off the ball to create passing angles.
Out of possession- Communication, work as a unit, when is the right time to press and win the ball, defend the square and block passing lanes β½οΈ
Small sided games to finish with different rules π

Is long passing an area you need to improve?
Are you a defender/midfielder looking to add this this skill to your game?
Turn your sound on π π£οΈβ¦.
Take a look at this drill where we combine first touch, heading, passing and footwork, before working on our βclipsβ towards a target β½οΈ
Jack demonstrates excellent technique throughout, along with a few pointers on the way π
From my point of view Iβm constantly positively encouraging players throughout the drill (see the caption) and step in when needed to offer the detail needed in order to execute the technique π€©
Try this drill and work on improving your passing range πͺ
As Jack always says to me.. βstick this one on your TikTokβ π π

Technical Drill β½οΈ
Covering first touch, passing, quick feet, dribbling π
I always get asked do I ever use YouTube for my drills?
In shortβ¦ no π
I plan my own drills as I believe I then fully understand how to progress them, or even sometimes make them easier π§
I use some βgo toβ drills for certain situations (example: possession drills for groups) that are things I have done myself as a player or sort of seen as βstandard practiseβ in football training. I sometimes watch videos of sessions on social media and adapt them to the players I work with and put my own stamp on it.
The important thing for me is, you can use drills that are out there, but can you disect and adapt them to a small group or 1 to 1 session to help each individual you work with π
A great weekend of sessions as we continue to help players improve each and every session π€©
