YOUTH BASEBALL IS BACK!
Here. We . Go!
We are about to start our youth sesssions for the season. Sessions will run at Taunton Green from 5pm on Tuesdays for anyone aged 4 - 14.
Children aged 4-8 can take part in T-Rex T-Ball which is a specialised schemed aimed at getting oung children to: Hit. Catch. Throw and Roar! and who doesn't like dinosaur-based anything?!
For older children we offer a mixture of coach-pitch and Little League - further developing throwing, catching and hitting skills and getting into gameplay.
There has never been a better time for getting into baseball as there are multiple events around the region where children can participate in Mix and Match games joining other children in the region to play fun, competitive baseball games.

TAUNTON BASEBALL CLUB CELEBRATES AS ROYAL MAIL FUNDS NEW KIT
Budding baseball players from Taunton Baseball Club have unveiled their brand-new kit, funded by Royal Mail’s Kits 4 Kids programme
They were nominated by Chris Chantrey, from Bridgwater Delivery Office
The team was chosen from thousands of nominations from across the UK
Budding baseball players from Taunton Baseball Club are celebrating being awarded a grant for brand-new kits as part of Royal Mail’s Kits 4 Kids programme. The team received the funding as part of the company’s drive to support employees’ local grassroots teams and help young people get active.
The team was nominated for funding by Chris Chantrey, at Bridgwater Delivery Office and part of the coaching team at Taunton Baseball Club. The Royal Mail logo now features on the front of the team’s kits.
Royal Mail’s Kits 4 Kids was launched in response to many requests from colleagues across the country who want to help their local youth sports teams by funding new kit. Royal Mail and Parcelforce employees were encouraged to nominate their local grassroots youth sports teams to receive grant funding. The programme has received thousands of nominations from employees and has supported over 670 teams so far.
Taunton Baseball Club formed in 2013 as an adult baseball team in the South West and Wales Baseball League. Over the last six years the club has looked to develop a youth team to help promote the sport of baseball in the local area, as well as across the south west. Over that time the club has been able to provide baseball activities to children aged 4 to 14 via school visits, weekly sessions, holiday camps and open youth events.
Greg Sage, Royal Mail’s Director of Corporate Affairs and ESG, said: “Our 130,000 people are at the heart of their communities across the UK, and Royal Mail’s Kits 4 Kids gives colleagues the opportunity to show their support and help young people get active in their local area. Unwavering pride and passion, forging through all weathers, out in the community – grassroots sport has a lot in common with Royal Mail. This exciting initiative brings the two together and we are delighted to be able to support Taunton Baseball Club.”
Chris Chantrey, Taunton Baseball Club coach and Royal Mail employee, said: “Our club is so thankful to be chosen as part of the Royal Mail's Kit 4 Kids scheme. Baseball is a developing sport and it is often hard to compete against traditional sports, so this sponsorship is a great boost for us. The kids are excited to wear their new uniforms for the upcoming season."
Saturday May 23rd saw the new uniform on show as Taunton Baseball Club hosted an open youth session at Taunton Green. Eleven children, aged 4 to 14, enjoyed two hours of hitting, catching and throwing. The club will be starting their weekly youth sessions on Tuesday June 2nd, between 5-6pm.
